AK Media, a Seattle-based outdoor media company, announced that Claire Lawson is rejoining the company as general sales manager of AK MediaPrint, the company's vertically integrated large format, digital printing service, also based in Seattle. Lawson brings more than 17 years of experience in outdoor media to her position. She formerly served as president and general manager of AK Media/Florida. She will be responsible for guiding the sales efforts for AK MediaPrint through offices across the country.
James Watson has become a partner in Bellevue Cardiology, a Bellevue-based cardiac speciality group. The practice has offices in Bellevue and Issaquah, and recently became affiliated with the Swedish Heart Institute in Seattle.
Regence BlueShield, a Seattle-based health plan provider, has promoted Jo Anne Long to general counsel. Long will be a member of the senior executive team. She has been working for the Regence Group since 1996, most recently as a senior associate general counsel. She replaces John Pierce who was promoted to senior vice president.
Obie Media, a Eugene, Ore.-based provider of out-of-home advertising products and services, is the apparent winning bidder of transit advertising services for Lane Transit District in Eugene, Ore., for three years with a two-year option. Obie Media approved the appointment of Gary Livesay as chief financial officer. Livesay has more than 20 years of experience in media and broadcasting related operations.
City of Des Moines Councilmember Terry Brazil recently received municipal accreditation from the Association of Washington Cities, a non-profit organization serving Washington's 279 cities and towns with a variety of legal, educational and technical services. Brazil completed over 30 hours of classroom credits to earn her accreditation. She represents the Western region at-large and will work on the organization's board of directors developing and setting policy.
Artisans Well, a Lynnwood-based gift and fine craft shop, will celebrate its grand opening near Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood Dec. 7-10. The shop, created by Jan Hales, offers gifts, fine crafts and work by regional and national artists. The shop will also offer a full schedule of classes planned to launch in January. Seattle-based software developer Tidemark Solutions recently installed automation software in several departments of the city of Victorville, Calif. The software, called Tidemark Advantage, will operate across building, planning, code enforcement, fire, business license and public works departments to automate and simplify permitting, licensing and inspection processes. The participating departments will coordinate so that permits and licenses are reviewed and issued more quickly with better records.
Loudeye Technologies, a Seattle-based provider of digital media solutions, announced that the company's current president and chief operating officer, David Bullis, has been named the chief executive officer. Bullis will lead the company's operations as the chief executive officer and the position of chief operating officer will be discontinued. He succeeds the company's founder Martin Tobias, who will continue as the chairman of the board of directors. Tobias will continue to help guide the long-term strategic direction of the company.
Equarius, a Bellevue-based full service eSolutions provider, has appointed Alain Dias as the director of strategic services. Dias joins the company's eBusiness practice and will focus primarily on solidifying and deploying the company's eBusiness service offerings. Alain was a partner at Decision Processes International, a worldwide management consultancy, and was instrumental in development of the firm's global eBusiness practice.
RealNetworks, a Seattle-based provider of media delivery on the Internet, announced several additions and changes in its management team. Senior Vice President Richard Cohen has assumed responsibility for the company's consumer business. Cohen will oversee all facets of the company's consumer business, including development and distribution of RealPlayer and RealJukebox. Susan Coskey has joined the company as vice president of human resources. Coskey comes to RealNetworks from the law firm of Garvey Schubert, & Barer. Peter Jackson will be joining the executive team as chief consultant for wireless and mobile technology. Thomas Frank, who previously ran the consumer business as part of his role as chief operating officer, announced that he has chosen to leave the company. Frank stated that his decision was a personal decision.
The Municipal Court of Seattle has launched a new Web site at http://www.cityofseattle.net/courts. On the site customers can pay certain fines and fees by credit card and obtain specific information about tickets and/or cases without the need of calling or visiting the court. Seattle Municipal is one of the first courts in the nation to offer this service.There is no fee to use the service.
