A new slate of officers was elected to the Washington Wheat Commission at a recent board meeting. Dan McKay of Almira is the new chairman of the commission. He is serving a one-year term, along with new vice chairman Jim White of Colfax and secretary-treasurer, Bradley Tompkins of Walla Walla. The commission was established in 1958 to enhance the production and marketing of Washington wheat.
The Washington State Dental Association has elected new officers and directors. The association promotes the highest standards of oral health to the public through public policy and programs that assist dental professionals. The new board president is Jeffrey Parrish of Sammamish. Denny Homer of Okanogan is the new president-elect. Spokane dentist Robert Shaw is the new vice president. Other new board members include Dexter Barnes, Bradley DeCounter, Rhonda Savage, Dan Middaugh and Spencer Jilek

Teresa Fesler joined Wallace Properties of Bellevue as bookkeeper. The company said she has an extensive accounting background is working on her degree at Bellevue Community College.
Jim Figel was promoted in Trammell Crow Co.'s Seattle offices to senior vice president and director of transaction services.
Five people joined O'Connor Consulting Group, a Seattle appraisal firm. Randy Gilliam comes with 20 years of commercial and residential experience. Chris Berger brings 10 years in office, industrial and retail. Deane Draper comes from residential and is moving into commercial. Reni Lestari recently received her masters degree in economics from the University of Washington and will focus on multifamily.
Stephanie Martin became a residential loan officer for Snohomish County at Seattle-based Pacific Northwest Bank.
Meanwhile, the bank's parent company Pacific Northwest Bancorp, which also owns four other banks, has begun planning to convert them all to the single Pacific Northwest Bank name. The other banks are InterWest, Pioneer and Kittitas Valley and Bank of Tukwilla. Together they total 55 offices in 16 counties.
Nine area real estate professionals completed the continuing education required to receive the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute in Chicago: Jacquelyn Davis of Washington Mutual Bank, John Emanuels of the Regency Group, Jeff Forsberg of Puget Sound Properties, Steve Franceschina of Martin Smith Inc., Vanessa Herzog of Colliers International, Larry Hoff of Coldwell Bank All American, Greg Meinhold of Pacific Hotel, Troy Muljat of Muljat Group and Kevin Suther of GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp.
Retail broker Paul Sleeth will speak at the next lunch meeting of Commercial Real Estate Women, scheduled for Dec. 14 in the Crystal Room of the Washington Athletic Club in downtown Seattle. West Coast Bancorp, an Oregon-based bank holding company, announced the appointment of Jeff Bertalotto as vice president and team leader for the company's business banking division. Bertalotto joins West Coast Bancorp after a 21-year banking career at US Bank.
Carroll Livingston has joined Best Consulting, a Kirkland-based information and technology consulting agency, as senior vice president of operations. Livingston joined the company in 1996 as director of human resources. He has more than 28 years of experience in human resources administration and operations management. Prior to joining Best Consulting, he ran his own consulting company, managed a Seattle law firm and was president of a temporary staffing company.
Ronald Maier, surgeon-in-chief at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, has been elected president of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. Maier will serve as president of the association until September 2001, when the organization holds elections at its next annual meeting. The association's goal is to prevent injury and improve care of trauma patients through education, training and research.
JAMS, an Irvine, Calif.-based company that provides resolution services to its clients through a panel of justices, judges and attorneys, has added Chief Justice Richard Guy to its Seattle office. Guy served on the Washington State Supreme Court for more than 10 years, and four years on the Spokane County Superior Court. He is the recipient of many awards in recognition of his services including the Washington State Bar Association Outstanding Judge Award and the American Board of Trial Advocates Jurist of the Year Award.
