Shannon & Wilson

Shannon & Wilson, Inc. announced the following additions to its Seattle staff: Gayle Guadarrama, senior associate and corporate marketing director, has more than 20 years of experience as a marketing professional in the architecture/engineering/construction industry. She is past president of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Seattle Chapter and a long time, active member of the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks. David Winter, vice president, has a 20-year history of successful projects in the Puget Sound region. He has overseen major geotechnical and environmental projects for both public and private sector clients, including the Washington Mutual Tower, U.S. Bank Centre, Westlake Center and Bellevue Place. Projects such as these have established him as one of the region’s authorities on deep excavation design and construction.

Hackworth Architecture Planning

Hackworth Architecture Planning, Inc. of Seattle announces the promotion of Denise Steffes to project architect. Steffes joined the firm in 1998 and has been an integral part of the management team.

Steffes received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from WSU and has more than 20 years experience as a professional architect. Her recent projects include a six-story commercial mixed-use building in downtown Redmond, a 240-unit condominium site in Renton and design guidelines for NW Landing in Dupont. Her experience also includes office and retail buildings, warehouses and custom residential projects.

Hackworth Architecture, established in 1992, provides architecture and land planning services for major Northwest builders and developers. The firm's expertise includes master planned communities, urban in-fill, residential development, mixed-use facilities, as well as commercial office buildings, townhouses, apartments and custom residential homes.

Harris Group

Harris Group has hired Marvin Davis as mechanical engineer for its industrial manufacturing business unit in Seattle. He will be assisting customers such as Boeing, Harley-Davidson and Paccar. A graduate of Oregon Institute of Technology, Davis brings 18 years of experience to Harris. Harris provides consulting engineering, design and construction management to business in energy, forest industries, industrial manufacturing, microelectronics and telecommunications.

Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc. announced that Jim Haack has become a shareholder in the corporation and its subsidiary, Conway Architecture, Inc.

Haack directs all architectural design for the firm. His current projects include: La Quinta Court retail development, Purdue University Credit Union in West Lafayette, Ind., Lexus of Bellevue, 975 John Street Office building, Kitsap Federal Community Credit Union and LG’s Steakhouse in La Quinta, Calif. Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc. is a full service architectural firm headquartered in Seattle with a branch office in Irvine, Calif.

MulvannyG2 Architects recently hired David Haworth Jr. to manage the firm's corporate communications and Lindsey Doyle as marketing assistant. Haworth will be responsible for managing MulvannyG2's corporate-wide public relations and media relations activities, as well as developing content for the firm's marketing materials and newsletters. He previously worked for the Frause Group, a Seattle public relations agency, as an account executive and has seven years of public relations and communications experience.

Doyle will provide support for MulvannyG2's various marketing and public relations programs. She previously worked for KLSY and KIXI radio in Seattle as a promotion coordinator and graduated from Washington State University in May 2000.

AK Media, a Seattle-based outdoor media company, announced that its Pacific Northwest operations, formerly AK Media/NW, has split into two separate, full-service operations: AK Media Washington, based in Seattle; and AK Media Oregon, based in Portland. The company added Linsey Shields as general manager of the newly independent AK Media Oregon. Shields brings nearly 20 years of experience in sales and marketing team management to his position. He formerly served as a zone sales manager at Frito-Lay.

Integra Telecom of Washington, a Kent-based integrated communications provider, has promoted Cathy Pizzini to vice president of customer care. Pizzini will oversee the Washington call center and the account management and customer service departments. This group will provide ongoing support throughout the life of the customer account, including installation, activation, service, and training. She joined the company as director of customer care when the Kent office opened in June 2000.

Microserv Technology Services

Microserv Technology Services, a Kirkland-based computer hardware support services company, announced the promotion of Jonathan Scott to company president and CEO. Scott succeeds Gerald Ryles, who will remain chairman of Microserv's board of directors. Scott was formerly executive vice president responsible for sales, marketing and business development.

VitalLink Business Systems

VitalLink Business Systems, a provider of Internet-based management tools for small businesses, has opened a Seattle office. VitalLink offers real-time video monitoring and archiving, cash register data streaming and audio monitoring. VitalLink plans to expand its suite of services to include commercial music, an ASP-based point of sale solution, credit card processing and a liquor management system. The VitalLink Business Network includes broadband installation to provide Internet connection for the delivery of its management services.

Arthur Andersen

Arthur Andersen, a global professional services firm, has added three key positions to its strategy and value solutions service line, a Seattle-based branch of the company's business consulting practice. Joining the team as a senior manager is Geno Armstrong. Armstrong will assist high technology firms in reducing construction costs while maintaining quality and project completion goals. Casey Stenzel and John Cunningham have also been hired as strategy and value solutions managers. Stenzel, who worked for Arthur Andersen from 1993 to 1999, returns to the firm after serving as a Nordstrom project manager. Cunningham brings with him more than 21 years of experience in real estate development
