The Eastside Transportation Partnership (ETP), a group of elected officials focused on fixing the Eastside's traffic congestion, has voted in Bellevue Deputy Mayor Connie Marshall as a new chair. Marshall is joined by returning vice chair, Kirkland Councilmember Joan McBride.
James Mitchell recently joined Cain and Scott, a Seattle-based apartment brokerage firm, as an associate broker. Mitchell has an extensive background in institutional real estate in the South and Midwest.
Gini Lawson has joined Grey Direct West, an advertising and marketing firm, as senior vice president, managing director for the Seattle office. Lawson most recently was first vice president of advertising for Washington Mutual Bank. Lawson has won over 50 advertising and direct marketing awards.
Microserv Technology Services, a Kirkland-based computer hardware support services company, announced that Scott Koznek has joined the company's executive team as vice president of finance. Koznek responsibilities will include directing the accounting, forecasting, and financial modeling, developing investment strategies and policy, and maintaining relationships with financial institutions.
Cori Halverson has been hired as a project manager with Daniels-Brown Communications -- an advertising, design and public relations firm based in Olympia.
Halverson was the Washington State Senate Production Services manager for four years. Prior to that, she was a Senate legislative assistant for 6 years. She will be responsible for tracking and managing a wide variety of client advertising and PR projects. Also joining the staff as an executive assistant is Vicki Wiggins, who was previously an office and project manager with Gibbs & Olson Engineering. She has more than 12 years experience managing client projects with a background in computer networking and software
The Berger Partnership, a landscape architecture and site planning firm, announced recent staff additions and promotions. Jason Henry was recently promoted to associate. His current projects include Whitman College Science Building and Campus Center in Walla Walla, Redmond Municipal Campus, and numerous high-end residential projects. Guy Michaelsen was recently named associate. He is currently working on several downtown Seattle projects: the Fifth and Yesler Building, the Third and Battery Building, the Fifth and Jackson Building, the 425 Second Avenue Building, as well as numerous residences. Jonathan Morley was promoted to associate. Morley joined the firm in 1998 with over four years of experience working on public projects with park departments, schools, and municipalities, in addition to residential projects. Mark Sindell was promoted to Project Manager. Sindell recent projects include Washington State University Campus Image Enhancement and the Shock Physics Building at WSU, the Kent RTA Station. Dana Staikides was promoted to project manager. She is currently working on The Puget Sound Environmental Learning Center, Bainbridge Island, and numerous residences throughout the region. Jeanette Macken was promoted to project manager. She is currently working on The Puget Sound Environmental Learning Center, Bainbridge Island; REI Corporate Campus, Kent; Juanita Village, Kirkland; and The Perry, Cabrini Towers, Seattle. Tammy Frick was recently promoted to associate project manager. Her recent projects include Mountain Star Resort, Cle Elum; Barkley Office Building No. 3, Bellingham; Unigard Sport Court on the Unigard Corporate Campus, Bellevue; and a residential project near Bellingham. Jamie Fleckenstein was recently promoted to associate project manager. Jamie joined the firm in 1998 as a University of Washington intern and became a full-time member of the staff in March of 2000. He is currently working on Ravenna Garden Court, Seattle; Episcopal Diocesan House, Seattle; and several residences.
SRG announced the additions of Skip D. F. Stanaway; Suenn Ho; Deb France,; and Mark Kogut.
A new associate principal at SRG, Stanaway has a diverse background leading educational, commercial, and institutional projects. Specific areas of expertise include historic renovation and new renovation and construction for higher education facilities. France joins SRG as senior associate. At SRG she is providing planning services to multiple healthcare and research clients. Suenn Ho, an associate and senior designer, is a Fulbright Scholar recipient and a grant recipient from the National Endowment for the Arts, with a background in teaching as well as professional practice in New York, Hong Kong, France and now Portland. A new associate, Kogut is currently project architect for the exterior building envelope, on the Genentech Founder’s Research Center II, a $70 million research facility in South San Francisco.
MulvannyG2 Architects recently hired Derrick Kent as an estimator for its Bellevue office. Kent will be responsible for development of cost projections for new Costco Wholesale warehouses in the Northwest, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego regions.
Kent previously worked for Lindal Cedar Homes in Seattle as a customer relations representative and has 10 years of experience in the custom house and light commercial construction industry.
@NewsBrief:Nancy Duevel has joined EQE International's Seattle office as a senior project manager. Duvel has more than 30 years of structural design and seismic engineering expertise, serving most recently as Head of Structural Engineering at a local engineering firm. Her project experience covers a full-range of structures, including commercial, medical, educational, residential and judicial buildings, as well as lifeline systems and industrial facilities. She has served as president of the South King County Chapter of NSPE and past Chair of the Washington State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
@NewsBrief:Freiheit & Ho Architects, Inc., announced the promotion of Jamie Ho to a position as an associate. During the past two years she has worked on various projects including Five Newport Corporate Center and Kirkland Lakeview Office Building.
Ho is currently the project manager for the Kirkland Office Building and the 24 Hour Fitness Health Club account, which has her working on projects in Seattle, Lynnwood and Bellevue. She plays an active role on her project team, ranging from schematic design to construction administration.

Since completing his internship at the San Diego Zoo, Taylor has worked on various projects including the Pacific Science Center, Everett Community College, Foster Golf Course Master Plan and Nordstrom nationwide. Currently, he is working on Lacey Elementary School and other projects.
