Zions Bancorporation announced that its subsidiary, The Commerce Bank of Washington, named James Hawkanson as chairman and CEO. Stanley Savage, a former Bank of America executive vice president, has been named president. Hawkanson will remain chairman until his retirement Dec. 31. After retiring, Hawkanson will continue as a member of the bank's board. Hawkanson had been managing director and CEO since co-founding the bank in 1988.
CapitalStream, a Seattle-based provider of Web infrastructure, has promoted Alan Fuhrman to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Fuhrman has more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and operations of various electronics, medical device, software and professional service firms. He helped CapitalStream close two rounds of equity financing, including a $20 million round in March
David McMullen has been named associate at KPFF Consulting Engineers. McMullen specializes in design and renovation of bridge and waterfront structures. He is project manager for Immunex's Helix pedestrian bridge at Terminal 88 and a three-span bridge that crosses a Class I wetland at Quadrant's Redmond Ridge urban planned residential development. McMullen participated in the post-tensioning of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge which receive honor awards from the American Consulting Engineers Council and the Consulting Engineers Council of Washington.
Ralph Petereit has been named director of Reid Middleton's waterfront group. He will manage waterfront services, overseeing the firm's team of engineers who specialize in upland, coastal and waterfront engineering design as well as project management. Petereit oversaw construction of the Coast Guard's newest ice-breaking research vessel, U.S.C.G. Healy. He has 20 years of experience in planning, designing, inspecting and administering construction of waterfront facilities and structures, including piers, wharves, marinas, breakwaters, structures and site development.
Reid Middleton also promoted Mike Wallace to director of the surface transportation group. He will manage Reid Middleton's street and highway practice, and oversee engineers within Reid Middleton specializing in traffic and transportation design. Wallace will oversee the group's administration, project management, marketing and quality control and assurance. He will be responsible for continuing efforts on existing street and highway contracts. He has 18 years of civil engineering practice.
Broweleit Peterson Hammer Architects has added Ye Sung and Bob Rowan to the staff. With a master's in architecture from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., Sung is working on a new sanctuary and classroom addition for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Rowan, a graduate of Washington State University, is working on a new parish hall and classroom building addition for St. Cecilia Parish in Stanwood.
Hutteball & Oremus Architecture announced the addition of Bill Chaput to its staff. Chaput has more than 18 years experience managing architectural projects and specializes in design and construction of educational and public use facilities. He is working on modernization of an elementary school in the Monroe School District and an addition to an elementary school in the Tacoma School District.
BOE architects has added Angela Desmond as project associate. She will assist in the design and documentation of a variety of commercial projects including the Pacific Peaks Council New Girl Scout Center in DuPont, the Patterson Lake Resort improvement projects at Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop and the Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society Heritage Center (in conjunction with Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen and WPC, Inc.) Kimberly Doyle has been promoted to project associate with her involvement with the design and documentation of the Olson Brothers Chevrolet remodel in Gig Harbor, the McFerran remodel project in Tacoma, the renovation of the Fairwood Golf and Country Club in Renton, and the new 48-unit Eagle View phase II neighborhood at Fort Lewis.
ECS Engineering, has promoted Brian Ziesmer to managing engineer for the Wenatchee office. Ziesmer is a control systems engineer with 10 years experience in control system process design and implementation. His experience includes electrical and control system design, software development and implementation of process equipment. Most of his projects were completed for the aerospace, instrumentation and metals, pulp and paper, municipal and construction industries.
Parametrix and Pacific Rim Resources have merged their Portland offices under the leadership of Parametrix. The merger combined PRR resources in planning and public involvement with Parametrix’s engineering and design services. The following staff, formerly with PRR, has joined Parametrix as a result of this merger.
David M. Siegel is the director of planning and communications for Parametrix, with over 24 years of experience as a planner and manager. He has experience in land use and long-range planning, having led or participated in the preparation of comprehensive land use plans in compliance with Oregon’s statewide planning goals and Washington’s Growth Management Act.
Sumner Sharpe has more than 40 years experience as a planner and policy analyst, specializing in public involvement and community relations, housing and community development, strategic and comprehensive planning, and land use and development. Notably, Sharpe is the author of over 20 articles on public involvement and policy, and was a professor of urban studies and planning at Portland State University.
Tom Armstrong has more than 12 years of experience in growth management and land use/transportation planning. He facilitates policy advisory committees, conducts stakeholder interviews, prepares growth management plans and policies, reviews and revises development codes, and produces public information materials to explain complex growth management policies.
Jennifer Bradford is a planner with seven years of experience. Her areas of expertise include regional and statewide planning policy, demographic and buildable lands analyses, and the integration of geographic information systems with community and regional planning issues.
Jason Franklin is a land use planner and project manager with 10 years experience with visioning projects, town center planning efforts, comprehensive plan updates, zoning code rewrites, model code handbooks and plan implementation projects.
Marlys Mock has five years of experience in community outreach, involvement and communications. She coordinates and facilitates open houses, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and small group discussions. Through her project work and active involvement in neighborhood associations, Marlys has a strong understanding of public involvement processes and the many issues affecting communities, ranging from the environment and growth management/land use planning to the long-range environmental effect of development.
Katlin Smith has over 20 years of experience in publications, public and media relations, marketing, special events planning and administration for community organizations and non-profit agencies.
Kay Wiggins has over 15 years experience writing and producing documents to facilitate understanding of complex topics. Her writing, editing and production qualifications include marketing profiles, newsletters, desktop publishing, and project coordination
