The agents from the 10 offices are handing out the packets through next month. President J. Lennox Scott said he hopes to broaden it to more John L. Scott offices because "the energy crisis is a very serious issue affecting everyone in the Northwest. We jumped at the opportunity."

The firm could reach more than a few people. Its 101 offices, staffed with 2,500 sales associates, closed 41,000 transactions last year. The firm claims its Web site received 35 million hits a month from 425,000 unique visitors
