Reid Middleton

Carolyn Cheung has joined Reid Middleton as a civil engineer in the civil projects group. She is responsible for assisting with general engineering, site design and storm drainage calculation projects.

Cheung comes to Reid Middleton from the Washington State Department of Transportation, where she served as a FLOW operator.

DLR

Ahmed Jaddi recently was hired at DLR Group with project management experience in civil and structural engineering on a wide variety of projects, including higher education, justice, civic, residential, industrial and corporate. He serves as lead structural engineer, and with multiple state registrations is a valuable resource to the company nationwide.

Bob McClendon works in Seattle's retail group bringing years of national and international experience as manager of projects ranging from convention centers to five-star hotels to office high-rises. His expertise is being put to use on Duty Free Stores, Valley Mall, the Adicom Building in San Francisco and the Snoqualmie Fresh Market mixed-use development.

Rick Peters began his involvement with the HVAC industry as a sheet metal apprentice in 1976. Now he joins DLR Group as a lead mechanical engineer with 26 years of industry expertise.

Wayne Williams has 12 years of experience as a mechanical engineer. His current projects include Bellevue's Forensic ID Lab, the Seattle Crime Lab and a planning study for Washington Department of Corrections Health Care.

Myung Shin arrived at DLR from Washington State University. He has been working in the retail group on Valley Mall, DFS, Boeing and Center Oak Properties.

Berger/ABAM

Tosha Vandegrift recently joined Berger/ABAM as senior marketing coordinator. She has 12 years experience in the architectural/engineering/construction industry. Vandegrift’s background focuses in the areas of business development and marketing support activities, including proposals, statement of qualifications, press release development and client research. Vandegrift will provide marketing support for Berger/ABAM’s Seattle office. Vandegrift is serving on the board of directors of the Seattle chapter of SMPS as treasurer. Previously, she worked for GeoEngineers.

Steve Mersdorf has joined the Federal Way office. Mersdorf’s background focuses on construction-related activities, including construction inspection for transportation projects. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Jenai Fitzpatrick has joined the Portland office. She has nearly 10 years of manual and computer-aided drafting and design experience. Fitzpatrick received her training from Clackamas Community College. She owned and operated Fitz Design Drafting Services and also worked for Harper Houf Righellis.

CollinsWoerman

CollinsWoerman recently added Max Struble and Eric Kolmodin to the firm. Kolmodin joins the firm as senior interiors project manager and planner with more than 25 years of experience in interior design, performing programming, planning, design and construction administration. Kolmodin works on Delta Society, Boeing Aviation Services, Nordstrom, Equity Office and Hudson Bay Co. He was previously employed at TenantWorks, Jones Lang LaSalle and Callison.

As senior designer, Struble specializes in architecture design and detail for interiors. He is working on projects for Nordstrom in Seattle and Equity Office at Lincoln Center in Portland. Formerly a project designer at Ward, Gibbons & Co. in Portland, Struble has worked on projects including Heritage High School, Hammer Corporate Offices and the Vancouver School for Arts/Academics.

Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone

Todd Powell recently joined Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone as a transportation design engineer. He will aid the firm’s transportation engineering department and immediately begin work on projects for municipalities and the U.S. Forest Service. Powell studied civil engineering at Oregon State University and has four years of design experience. He previously worked as a design engineer at Tye Engineering in Bend, Ore

Sterling Savings Bank, a Spokane-based savings association, recently announced the promotion of Patrick Nicholson to assistant vice president. Nicholson is a private banker at the bank's Tacoma branch. He joined the bank in May 2000 with more than 35 years of banking experience, including 16 years with Wells Fargo Bank.

University of Phoenix Washington

The University of Phoenix Washington campus has appointed Bob Embrey as director of operations. Embrey will oversee and direct day-to-day student services and operations activities for the university. He will play an active role in the interaction with city, business and educational leaders.

EverTrust Financial Group

EverTrust Financial Group, a holding company for EverTrust Bank servicing Thurston, Pierce, King and Snohomish counties, hired Rich Munoz as corporate controller of the company and its subsidiaries. Munoz's responsibilities include directing the overall accounting activities.

Washington Restaurant Association

Lyn Jeffress, Gregg Hazard and Wayne Ludvigsen have been named to the board of directors of the Washington State Restaurant Association. Jeffress of Jack in the Box in Renton has been a member of the association since 1991. Hazard of the Compass Group in Redmond has been a member since 1992. Ludvigsen of Charlie's Produce in Seattle has been a member since 1986.

WebSpy

WebSpy, an Australian company that develops software for Internet monitoring and management, announced the opening of an office in Seattle. WebSpy CEO Jack Andrys, as well as local sales and marketing representatives, currently staff the Seattle office. The company plans to increase the number of local staff in the near future.

Caliber Inspection

Caliber Inspection, a Seattle-based testing and inspection service company, announced that Todd Meadows has joined the firm as a vice president. Meadows has an extensive background in operations, customer support and technology, most recently with BFGoodrich Aerospace and Avolo.com.

Riddell Williams

Eilleen Concannon of the law firm of Riddell Williams has been elected to become the central district trustee for the King County Bar Association. Concannon has been affiliated with Washington's Supreme Court Commission on Gender and Justice, the Leadership Tomorrow Governing Board, the University of Washington Women's Center Board and the KCBA's Committee on Gender Equality. She is a chair of Riddell Williams' Pro Bono Committee
