Quadrant Corp. promoted four executives in its commercial division as part of a reorganization that shifts the division away from developing large, planned office parks.
"Quadrant is taking a two-prong approach to new acquisitions, shifting its focus ... to acquiring sites for mixed-use redevelopment, i.e. retail, office and residential, in close-in, walkable urban neighborhoods and in niche locations within suburban areas," the Bellevue-based subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Co. said in a prepared statement.
The target size for redevelopment acquisitions ranges from 30,000 to 120,000 square feet, Quadrant said.
"As traditional suburban neighborhoods continue to mature, there is an increasing need for mixed-use developments that cater to an urban lifestyle and allow people to simultaneously live, work and play," said Vice President Ben Conwell, who was promoted to the head of acquisitions. "By targeting these areas, we hope to fulfill that need."
Conwell, who has worked at Quadrant for 14 years, had been supervising what Quadrant identified as one of its "marquee projects," the 20-acre Quadrant Lake Union Center in Fremont.
