Shawn S. Summersett has joined R. W. Beck Inc., an engineering and consulting firm, as a senior civil engineer/project manager for the Seattle infrastructure services group.
In his new position, Summersett will provide project management, construction management and civil engineering planning and design services for stormwater, wastewater and water utilities and solid waste facilities.
Summersett, who has more than 10 years of experience, was formerly a civil engineer with TranSystems Corp. in Seattle. R.W. Beck is a management consulting and engineering firm with 21 offices.

Kevin McKeand has joined Wireless Services Corp. as chief operating officer. McKeand was previously with McCaw Cellular Communications and AT&T Wireless. Wireless Services provides wireless data delivery solutions and intercarrier data messaging interoperability from its headquarters in Bellevue.
A. R. Larsen has expanded its capabilities to include complete standard and custom galley services to the marine industry. The Redmond-based company is now completing custom work and equipment for Northwest passenger ferries and factory trawlers, national cruise ship lines and sportfishing vessels.
Three new leases have been signed at the Tacoma Mall for abercrombie, Helzberg Diamonds and Vans Shoes. Openings for the three stores are scheduled for spring.
Robert H. Short is the new CEO at Pinnacle Risk Management Services. Previously, Short was senior vice president of operations at Pinnacle's parent company, Workers Compensation Fund of Salt Lake City.
A new full-service salon has opened in the Selano condominium complex at Queen Anne Avenue and John Street The salon is owned and operated by Merritt Knapp and provides hair care for men and women.
Steven Haas has been named vice president of church relations for World Vision. In the new role, he will empower U.S. churches in domestic and international ministry. He was formerly president of the Trinity Forum, a Northern Virginia-based organization that works with secular and Christian leaders.
