R.W. Beck

Shawn S. Summersett has joined R. W. Beck Inc., an engineering and consulting firm, as a senior civil engineer/project manager for the Seattle infrastructure services group.

In his new position, Summersett will provide project management, construction management and civil engineering planning and design services for stormwater, wastewater and water utilities and solid waste facilities.

Summersett, who has more than 10 years of experience, was formerly a civil engineer with TranSystems Corp. in Seattle. R.W. Beck is a management consulting and engineering firm with 21 offices.

NewsBriefs:Rice Fergus Architects of Bremerton recently expanded its interiors department, hiring Wendy Jobe as interior designer.

Jobe’s seven-year background includes designing interior environments in the health care, retail and residential sectors. She has bachelor of arts degrees in business management and clothing and textiles design, and an associate of technical arts in interior design

Cary Kopczynski

Trochalakis

Cary Kopczynski & Co., a Bellevue structural engineering firm, announced that Panos Trochalakis has been promoted to associate. His primary responsibilities include structural design and project management. Trochalakis is managing the structural design of a 21-story mixed-use building at Second and Pine in Seattle, the 12-story Vine Building condominiums in Seattle, Southport Bristol and Carling Apartments in Renton and the Avalon on the Square mixed-use project in Bellevue. He has 10 years of engineering design and management experience.

Hammond Collier

David Nitchals recently joined Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone, consulting engineers in the firm’s sanitary sewer design team as a senior project manager. He has 16 years of municipal wastewater, stormwater and water system evaluation and design experience; environmental assessment, impact and cleanup experience; as well as project and construction management experience.

Allerdice

Nakea Allerdice has joined HBB, Inc., a mechanical engineering firm based in Seattle, as a CAD technician. Allerdice, a graduate of ITT Technical Institute, has an associate degree in computer aided drafting and design, and four years experience in mechanical engineering document production. Current assignments are the Pearson Elementary School remodel for North Kitsap School District, Grays Harbor College library remodel and the new elementary School No. 12 for the Mukilteo School District.

Wireless Services

Kevin McKeand has joined Wireless Services Corp. as chief operating officer. McKeand was previously with McCaw Cellular Communications and AT&T Wireless. Wireless Services provides wireless data delivery solutions and intercarrier data messaging interoperability from its headquarters in Bellevue.

A. R. Larsen

A. R. Larsen has expanded its capabilities to include complete standard and custom galley services to the marine industry. The Redmond-based company is now completing custom work and equipment for Northwest passenger ferries and factory trawlers, national cruise ship lines and sportfishing vessels.

Tacoma Mall

Three new leases have been signed at the Tacoma Mall for abercrombie, Helzberg Diamonds and Vans Shoes. Openings for the three stores are scheduled for spring.

Pinnacle Risk Management

Robert H. Short is the new CEO at Pinnacle Risk Management Services. Previously, Short was senior vice president of operations at Pinnacle's parent company, Workers Compensation Fund of Salt Lake City.

In Style by Merritt

A new full-service salon has opened in the Selano condominium complex at Queen Anne Avenue and John Street The salon is owned and operated by Merritt Knapp and provides hair care for men and women.

World Vision

Steven Haas has been named vice president of church relations for World Vision. In the new role, he will empower U.S. churches in domestic and international ministry. He was formerly president of the Trinity Forum, a Northern Virginia-based organization that works with secular and Christian leaders.
