ClearPoint

ClearPoint has added two new staff members: Angi Arends, account director and John Portillo, benefit advocate. Prior to joining ClearPoint, Arends served as a senior account manager with ProBusiness Administrative Services. Portillo most recently served as a benefits specialist with Benefit Port/Reppond. ClearPoint, founded in 1997, serves more than 500 clients with employee benefit services.

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky

Julia A. Bahner joined the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in its Seattle office as an associate. She concentrates her practice on bankruptcy, creditor rights and commercial litigation. Previously, Bahner worked as a consultant with American Management Systems.

Foster Pepper & Shefelman

Foster Pepper & Shefelman named Stacey A. Connole and Sabina L. Silver as associates in its Seattle office. Connole concentrates her practice in litigation. Previously, she was an intern with the Washington State Association of Counties. Silver concentrates her practice in real estate. Silver was previously a legal extern for the Seattle City Attorney's Office, and was a law clerk for Dionne & Rorick of Seattle.

Union Bank

As part of restructuring its Pacific Northwest division, Union Bank of California named Kathleen Baker Pacific Northwest CEO. Baker was previously director of investments and private wealth management for Portland's Copper Mountain Trust, which was recently acquired by Union Bank. The bank also appointed J. Thomas McCully, senior vice president, to oversee trust and investment management services in the Northwest and Thomas O'Connell, vice president, to manage private and business banking in Washington and retail banking in Oregon and Washington. Michael Hart, vice president, was named to oversee private and business banking in Oregon.

Republic of Croatia

Recent promotions at Clark Nuber include Jim Darragh and Vincent Stevens as principals; Jennifer Deger as senior manager; Devon Campbell, Shawn Hansen and Andrew Prather as managers; and Brian Clintworth, Pete Miller, Liana Smith and Justin Yamamoto as seniors. The firm also promoted Frances Ford to human resources administrative assistant and John Rauch to network engineer.

DPR Construction has added David Aaroe as regional manager of DPR-Seattle and Kevin Brettmann as senior manager of the office. The company also announced the return of Jeff Van Sickle as estimator. DPR’s Arne Hall will remain in Seattle and focus on national business development. Aaroe, who joined DPR-Portland in 2000, has 22 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries. He will head up strategic planning, business development, operations and customer relations for DPR-Seattle. Brettmann has 21 years of experience in biotech, laboratory and high-tech construction, including serving as senior project manager for the $475 million Immunex Helix project in Seattle. Van Sickle, a 19-year construction veteran, is returning to DPR after two years at Onyx Software, where he served as project manager for the company’s new $23 million global headquarters.

The Seattle office of Walsh Construction Co. has hired Steve Tatge as manager of quality assurance and Kim Hines as community outreach coordinator. Tatge will lead the office's "green" construction program, and keep current on new building technologies. Prior to joining Walsh, Tatge managed capital projects for Immunex Corp. and spent 11 years as a project manager and senior associate at the Miller/Hull Partnership. Hines will develop a community outreach program that focuses on providing bidding opportunities for M/WBE firms, hiring minorities and women as direct employees, and coordinating job placements with subcontractors. Hines recently worked with the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle-King County in community outreach for the 2002 Seattle Housing Levy.
