Lynden International, a division of Lynden Air Freight of Seattle, opened seven offices in Mexico. The new offices, the first Mexico-based operations for the company, are located in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Queretaro, Cuernavaca, San Luis Potosi and Merida. Lynden operates 43 other offices in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, and plans future expansion in Mexico to Leon, Aguascalientes, Cancun, Puebla and Toluca.
CapitalStream named Kevin Riegelsberger to president and CEO. Riegelsberger was previously president and CEO of WiredCapital. CapitalStream, based in Seattle, develops automatied financial solutions for banks and finance companies.
PCC Natural Markets is seeking applicants to run for its board of trustees positions for 2003. Board candidates must be PCC members and commit to the board's meeting schedule for a three-year term. The name of the business school at the University of Puget Sound has been changed to the School of Business and Leadership. One reason for the change from School of Business and Public Administration, according to Paul Huo, director of the SBL, is that the school no longer offers courses in public administration. The business faculty also wished to have a name that recognized both the importance of the Business Leadership Program and new interdisciplinary courses in leadership. Brian Christopher of Christenson Corp. has been selected as a fellow of the Academy of Electrical Contracting. Christopher is president emeritus of the Portland-based firm of 600-plus employees. He joined the firm in 1964 as a journeyman electrician.
The Excellence Alliance has named Tacoma's Air Systems Engineering as its Western region "Mechanical Contractor of the Year." The alliance is a national group of independent contractor companies. Air Systems, a family-owned business, was founded in 1973 and employs 85 people
