Swinerton Builders of Oregon has promoted Ken Maheu to vice president and division manager. Maheu has over 20 years of management and building experience, much of it in high-tech, clean room and critical facilities. He recently led a Swinerton team in a fast-track, design-build construction of the $136 million Novellus campus in Tualatin, Ore.

Rick Clarfeld, MD, and Kristi Harrington, MD have joined the Cancer Center at Overlake Hospital Medical Center. Both certified surgeons previously practiced at the Polyclinic in Seattle where Clarfeld was the director. The two specialize in breast surgery.
Jeffery A. Richard joined Foster Pepper & Shefelman as an associate in the firm's municipal practice group. His practice emphasizes public finance, municipal law, state constitutional law and elections. Previously, Richards served as deputy prosecuting attorney in the civil division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
City University in Bellevue promoted Carl Adams to academic operations director. He was associate dean of the school of business at City University. City University is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher education, helping working adults pursue educational opportunities without interrupting their careers.
For the 12th straight year the Seattle Center Foundation will coordinate donations to help more than 1,200 seniors, disabled adults, children and homeless teenagers in the greater Seattle area during the Christmas season with the Sharing Gift Box at Washington Mutual’s Winterfest at Seattle Center. The organization will maintain a wish card display in the Seattle Center House for donors to either purchase a gift or make a monetary donation. The foundation, partnered with 27 other organizations, expects to raise approximately $75,000 to $100,000 from Nov. 29 through Dec. 16. Pet's Choice named Bradley A. Berg its new CEO. Berg recently served as senior vice president and CFO of Loudeye Corp., and is a former executive vice president and CFO for Redhook Brewery. Bellevue-based Pet's Choice operates 49 veterinary hospitals in Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas.
