Daigle Design, a Puget Sound graphic design and web communications company, has hired Robin Purcell as an account executive to develop and service new clientele. Purcell has over 15 years of experience as a communications professional. Prior to her employment at Daigle Design she worked as a program manager for Hewlett Packard and as an advertising and promotions manager for Amazon.com.
Stephanie A. Henderson joined the law firm of Carney Badley Spellman as an associate upon completion of a one-year clerkship with Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court. During her last two years of law school at Gonzaga University, Henderson worked as a legal intern for Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brook & Miller in Spokane. Before attending law school, Henderson taught English at a private high school in Paris.
Banner Bank has promoted Brette Sangster to vice president, real estate loan officer. Based in Wenatchee, she is responsible for all phases of real estate lending. For the past 10 years Sangster has worked as a loan officer with Banner Bank/First Savings Bank. Prior to that she was a loan processor and closer at Cashmere Valley Bank.
Seattle Pacific Industries announced that Skyway Luggage Company has been licensed to produce Unionbay luggage and casual travel gear. Seattle Pacific Industries designs, produces and markets a wide variety of sportswear under the Unionbay, Reunion and Sergio Valente labels.

The Seattle University School of Law will hold a Nov. 7 program on "Recent Developments in Land-Use Law: GMA, SMA, SEPA and Constitutional Limitations." The seminar will focus on how government regulation affects real estate and community development. It will cover recent activity on the state's Growth Management Act, the Shoreline Management Act and the State Environmental Policy Act. The target audience is lawyers. Presenters will include Alan Copsey of the state Attorney General's Office, Adrienne Quinn of Buck & Gordon, Richard Settle of Foster Pepper & Shefelman and Jeffrey Eustis. Estep, Gray & Associates, an association management firm, has changed its name to ERGA, Inc., reflecting both company growth and a new partnership. Tammy Reno has been named partner and will share responsibilities with Andrew Estep, president. Reno leaves a career in library sciences.
Davis Wright Tremaine, a national law firm, recently hired new associates for its Portland office. The new associates are Jeff Lindberg, formerly a judicial law clerk at the Oregon Court of Appeals; Joseph Mattoon, formerly a summer law clerk for ScP Boineau in Paris and a legal intern for General Electric International Law and Policy; and Trinh C. Tran, whose legal experience includes a summer clerkship at David Wright Tremaine and internships in the trial unit of the Multnomah County district attorney’s office and in the legal department of Chrome Systems in Portland.
The U.S. Small Business Administration certified Marshall and Associates, a GIS consulting firm, as a women-owned, small business and 8(a) firm. The 8(a) program helps socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain a foothold in government contracting. As an 8(a) firm, Marshall is eligible to receive sole-source contracts up to $3 million in goods and services and $5 million in manufacturing.
Ruth Ann Dotson, a Bates Technical College career counselor, has been selected by the International Association of Machinists and the Boeing Quality Through Training program to attend Learning Summit 2003 at Boeing’s Leadership Center in October. Approximately 150 professionals from around the world will attend sessions on business impact, training partnerships and eLearning. Dotson has represented Bates at Boeing’s manufacturing site in Frederickson since 1996 and has presented at several national colleges for Boeing.
