Microsoft

Steve Shihadeh was appointed general manager of Microsoft's Healthcare Industry Solutions Group. Shihadeh is responsible for Microsoft's global healthcare strategy, marketing, services and partner strategies in the health plan, provider and pharmaceutical customer segments. Shihadeh is the former senior vice president of sales at Siemens Medical Solutions.

Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union

Robert H. Harvey, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, was named Executive of the Year by the Credit Union Executive Society. Harvey is on the board of the Washington Credit Union League and is vice-chair of the league's State Governmental Affairs Committee.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Davis Wright Tremaine, a Seattle-based law firm, added Ingrid Brydolf to its health law practice in Portland. Brydolf returns to Davis after five years as assistant general counsel at Legacy Health System, where she provided legal advice on physician relationships, medical staff and employment.

Boeing

Boeing Commercial Airplanes named Michael J. Cave senior vice president, Airplane Programs. He succeeds James M. Jamieson, who was named chief technology officer for Boeing Co. Louis J. Mancini succeeds Cave as senior vice president, Commercial Aviation Services.

4thpass

Ed Zylka was named general manager of 4thpass, a Seattle-based wireless software company and subsidiary of Motorola. Zylka, a Motorola executive, will continue to manage Enterprise Solutions within Motorola's PCS division while seeking to expand 4thpass. He replaces Mazin Ramadan, the founding CEO of 4thpass.

Washington Defense Trial Lawyers

The Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, a statewide organization of 750 trial lawyers who specialize in civil defense litigation, honored Edward S. Winskill and Patrick H. LePley at the annual WDTL Judges Reception. Winskill, of Davies Pearson, was named Outstanding Defense Trial Lawyer of 2003 and LePley, of LePley & Koehler, was named Outstanding Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of 2003.

Miller Nash

Miller Nash, a multi-service law firm based in Portland, named John Chung, Adele Conover and Adam Hughes associates in its Seattle office. Chung's practice emphasizes insolvency and reorganization, Conover's practice includes commercial and complex business litigation and Hughes focuses his practice on labor and employment, litigation and business.

The Spirit of Christmas

Ruth Ann Young, owner of Kirkland's The Spirit of Christmas, is organizing a shipment of gift boxes to U.S. troops in Iraq. Donations of eye drops, lib balm, dry roasted nuts, nonperishable snacks and candy, powdered juice mix and packaging shred are needed. Banner Bank, based in Walla Walla, named Cynthia Wood assistant vice president and branch manager of its Columbia Center branch in Kennewick. Wood is the former assistant vice president and branch manager of EverTrust Bank in Everett. She has nine years of experience in bank management.

Your 2 Feet, a store that offers healthful foot products, pain-relief footwear and therapeutic socks, opened its second Seattle-area location at 1201 Pine St. The store features an on-site podiatrist and on-site foot and back massage. Your 2 Feet will host a grand opening event on Nov. 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sperry Van Ness

The Orange County, Calif., brokerage of Sperry Van Ness has signed an affiliation with Bellevue-based commercial broker Norman Olsen, who becomes the first Sperry Van Ness broker in the Puget Sound region.

Olsen began his brokering career in 1979. His specialty is retail and light industrial properties. He has worked since 1989 as an associate broker at Bellevue-based Regency Group. He most recently represented the seller of the Olympic Medical Building in Bellevue, which sold for $2.6 million.

Olsen's affiliation with Sperry Van Ness will likely start in December, and even then he will continue operating out of Regency's offices but as a Sperry Van Ness broker, he said. The bulk of Sperry Van Ness deals have been apartment sales, but its brokers do handle other transactions.

Sperry Van Ness officials say signing Olsen is part of an expansion into various new markets. The company expects to grow from nine to 70 regions over two years. Olsen said Sperry Van Ness expects to sign up other brokers here.

Conner Homes

Connor Homes has hired Angela Palmer and Janet Truesdell as community sales managers for the Muirfield development in Sammamish, and promoted Jennifer Peterson to sales manager for The Greenlake, a Seattle condo project.

Eleven of the 29 Muirfield sites have been sold and more than half of the 100 condos at The Greenwood, 7000 Woodlawn Ave., have been sold, according to the company.

Quadrant

Quadrant, the state's largest home builder, has promoted Jim Sansburn to vice president of acquisition and finance, Troy Black to director of finance, and Tony Harris to director of safety.

Sansburn previously was vice president of finance. Black will continue overseeing golf course operations at Quadrant's planned community, Snoqualmie Ridge. Harris, previously a product scheduler, will be in charge of the corporation's Always Safe program.

Yates, Wood & MacDonald

Rick Peder of Yates, Wood & MacDonald has wrapped up two deals.

He represented Straitshot Communications, which subleased 6,960 square feet of office at Sunset Corporate Campus Building B from T-Mobile USA, which was represented by Steve Schwartz of Pacific Real Estate Partners. The rate, according to Peder, is $6 per rentable square foot, full service, for the remaining sublease term.

Peder represented IRBIT Motorworks of America, which leased 7,477 square feet of office and warehouse at 15411 N.E. 95th St., in Redmond for three years from RAD Ventures LLC. Scott Davis of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord. The rate information was not available.

Marcus & Millichap has announced the following apartment sales:

In Tacoma, Coho Real Estate LLC sold both the 38-unit Brant, 247 Fawcett Ave., and the 25-unit Lauriston, 235 Tacoma Ave. S., to The Tacoma Stadium LLC for a total of $1.455 million. Tacoma Stadium also bought from Coho Real Estate the 42-unit Bolivar, 1121 S. I St., for $1.745 million. Marcus & Millichap's Armand Tiberio, Robert Sheppard and Chad Duncan represented both parties in both deals.

Also in Tacoma, Duncan represented both parties in the sale of the 8-unit Chandler Apartments, 3332 S. Chandler. Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Butler sold the Chandler for $206,000 to Eastside Investors Group LLC.

Marcus & Millichap represented both parties in the sale of a fourth Tacoma property, Skyline Park Apartments, 2550 N. Vassault St. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lee sold the 18-unit property to Huntington Properties for $700,000.

And in Seattle, Marcus & Millichap brokers represented both the sellers, Dennis Voye and Patricia Stephens, and the buyer, Dianna Wang, in the $772,000 sale of a 7-unit apartment at 1008 N.W. 85th St. Marc Cunningham represented the sellers, and Collin Hagstrom and Daniel Swanson represented the buyer.
