Elliott Bay Design Group announced Jim Towers has been promoted to chief engineer. EBDG created the position to enhance the processes for creating, reviewing and working with technical documents. Towers will work with project managers to provide a consistent approach to engineering. He has 30 years experience in vessel design and construction.

Helminger
Helminger

PND recently added Mike Helminger. His interests are bridge design and structural engineering. He is working on the 17-mile King Cove access project in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, and is providing construction engineering support for the Metro Transit Division base parking garage in Seattle.

Garry Struthers Associates

Garry Struthers Associates of Bellevue announced that Nancy Gossett recently joined the firm as project manager/senior engineer. Gossett brings 25 years of design experience in in-water treatment, environmental remediation, combined-cycle power plants and refinery systems. She will serve as lead engineer for process and mechanical systems, and project management for environmental and engineering programs.

Gossett's recent projects include technology development and design for water systems and permitting for a power plant in Minookia, Ill. She also has experience in soil and groundwater remediation systems.

Callison Architecture added Jim Moore as a senior designer. He joined the hospitality team, which is responsible for resort projects.

Moore has 15 years of experience in planning and designing four- and five-star hotels and resorts, with expertise in meeting centers and corporate retreats. Moore was a principal at GGLO in Seattle where he led the design of such projects as the Cedarbrook Leadership Center for Washington Mutual, Willows Lodge in Woodinville and The Wickaninnish Inn in British Columbia. Moore was named 2003 Allied Member of the Year by the Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association.

Claudia Hirschey was promoted to vice president of business development at David Evans & Associates in Bellevue, where she has worked since 1993 on transportation planning, engineering and design projects.

Hirschey has 18 years of experience on multi-modal transportation planning and design, including the Corridor Needs Study for East King County and a study of alternatives for major corridor investment as part of the I-405 Corridor Program.

Landau Associates

Landau Associates, a Pacific Northwest engineering and environmental consulting firm, added several employees.

In the Edmonds office: Jayne Bloomberg, production/file coordinator, Mario Lopez, environmental technician; David M. Nelson, staff geologist and Charlene Kerr, accounting specialist.

Ryan Molsee, staff hydrogeologist, and Bill Towey, senior biologist, joined the Spokane office. David E. Moser, technician, Scott P. McDevitt, project engineer, and Michael G. Vedder, senior technician, in the Portland office.

Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson

Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, a Seattle-based law firm, named Joseph B. Genster and Howard F. Jensen principals. Genter's practice focuses on civil litigation and land use law. Jensen's practice emphasizes environmental, real estate and land use matters.

Woodmark Hotel & Spa

Woodmark Hotel & Spa, a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, named Carrie Markle corporate sales manager. Previously, Markle was an account executive for Marriott International and an area director of marketing for Life Care Centers of America. Woodmark is located at Carillon Point in Kirkland.

Oki Golf

Oki Golf, a Bellevue-based golf ownership and management company, named Rick Hancock superintendent and Rolly Leonard general manager of Indian Summer Golf & Country Club. Bob Pearsall, former superintendent of Indian Summer, was named superintendent of The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie. Hancock is the former superintendent of the Plateau Club and Leonard is the former general manager of The Golf Club.

Cell Therapeutics

Cell Therapeutics, a Seattle-based biopharmaceutical company, made some personnel changes. Steve Aselage was named executive vice president, global commercial operations. Jack W. Singer, former research program chair, was named chief medical officer and Silvano Spinelli was appointed executive vice president of development and managing director of operations. Edward E. Kenney retired as chief operating officer but will remain an advisor to the CEO. Giuseppe Dastoli was named vice president, business and commercial operations - Europe. Silvia Comas will replace M. Gabriella Camboni as director of development - Europe.

Chandler's Crabhouse

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants named Kevin Rohr, former executive chef of McCormick & Schmick's Harborside Restaurant, chef of Chandler's Crabhouse. Rohr was once a chef at the restaurant prior to becoming executive chef of Six Seven at The Edgewater. Chandler's is located in Seattle.
