Hilary Whitman has joined Nancy S. Juetten Marketing as a writer and media relations specialist. Whitman edited special sections and did marketing for the King County Journal. The firm is a Bellevue-based public relations and marketing communications agency.
Madison Bay Holdings, a Seattle-based manufacturer and distributor of recreational vehicles, powerboats and other leisure watercraft, has formed the Solar Tech Design Group as a new division. The group will provide in-house design and engineering services for the company and outside clients. Jeff Shaw, an experienced industrial designer and mechanical engineer, has been contracted to provide services to the group, which is planning new products, including a new line of powerboats.
Mayor Greg Nickels is seeking candidates for a position on the Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities. The commission advises the mayor and government groups on policies and legislation, giving insight on the concerns of sexual minorities. The unpaid position involves lobbying the state legislature. Skillings-Connolly promoted Alison Hepburn in its Lacey headquarters to environmental geologist. She was in marketing, but will now do field investigation and environmental documentation. Rachel Mehrtens was promoted to marketing coordinator. After 31 years with Washington State Department of Transportation as an ombudsman, Deb Gregory joined Skillings-Connolly as a senior administrative assistant. Engineer Kelly Harris has returned to Lacey from the Missoula, Mont., office. Harris has 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, roadway design and traffic operations and impact studies. Engineer-in-training Brandon Johnson will help developers with utility, water and stormwater projects. Stephen Lincoln, also a training engineer, will help local and state agencies with wastewater and transportation projects. Kerry Dudley joined as office administrator after four years in the Missoula, Mont., office. Michelle Rhodes is a project administrator. Rhodes has more than a decade of accounting experience. Lauren Behm is a marketing assistant. Shauna Kirk, Thomas Bieker and Chris Lowe are engineering technicians. John Henry is a college student and work/study engineering technology intern. Skillings-Connolly does engineering, environmental, real estate and surveying work. It is headquartered in Lacey.
