The Port of Tacoma has hired Michael Reilly as director, container terminal contracts. He was executive vice president of Mercedes Distribution Center (New York).
Insurance agent Mei-Ling Woo is opening a new State Farm agency at 16140 N.E. 87th St. in Redmond. Woo has worked for Immunex Corporation and is on the board of the Organization of Chinese Americans.
Seattle-Northwest Securities Corp., a bond underwriter and financial advisor with offices in Seattle, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City and Anchorage, has appointed Maud Daudon to president and CEO. Daudon joined the firm in 2002 and has been chief of staff and deputy mayor of Seattle and chief financial officer for the Port of Seattle. She succeeds John Rose, who retires this fall.

Manca Valum has been named the Western Washington University Foundation's new director of development for Western's College of Sciences and Technology and Huxley College of the Environment. She was director of development at Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services.
BluWater Consulting, an information-technology consulting and staffing firm in Kirkland, has hired Paulette Price as recruiting manager. Price was with ieRecruit and an instructor at North Seattle Community College.
Allstate Insurance Co. has promoted Brian Taylor to market claim manager of Allstate's Northwest auto market claim office in Bothell. Taylor has worked for Allstate for more than 12 years .

American Safari Cruises has hired Tom DeMent as marketing and Web manager and Tamara Horine as sales manager. The luxury yacht cruise company recently moved its headquarters from Lynnwood to Seattle's Fishermen's Terminal. DeMent was with Brennan Vacations in Seattle and Horine was with Alaska Unusual on Whidbey Island.
Dialpro Northwest, a provider of voice messaging systems in Edmonds, has hired Jeffrey R. Francis as senior systems engineer. Francis worked for Active Voice, Sound Advantage and Praxon.
Wynnchurch Capital Partners of Chicago has acquired SafeWorks, a Seattle-based manufacturer and distributor of powered, suspended access and safety solutions. SafeWorks provides equipment such as hoists, work cages, platforms and rigging systems to construction, restoration and maintenance companies.
