R. W. Beck recently hired eight employees, seven in Seattle and one in Nashville, Tenn., to do transmission and distribution design work. Thomas A. Bagnell, electrical engineer, will focus on high voltage electrical substation design and layout. James Bailey, a transmission and distribution engineer, has a background in civil and structural engineering, and will do transmission and distribution line design. Scott Bradshaw, a senior project manager, will do project management on major projects in Puget Sound. Senior transmission and distribution designer Eric Elsevier will do line layout, prepare documents and develop drawings for electrical transmission and distribution lines. With experience in relaying, controls and substation design, electrical engineer Sara Goodarzi will perform protection and substation design. Designer Eric Hildebrand provides layout and drawing support for both electric and gas system projects. Layne N. Le, electrical engineer, has more than four years of design experience with electric power and generating systems. Based in Nashville, Larry McCullum is a transmission and distribution project manager with more than 20 years experience.
On Nov. 24, Chef Dan Thiessen and business partner Matthew Bomberger will open the 0/8 Seafood Grill and Twisted Cork Wine Bar in the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. The restaurant and bar are at 900 Bellevue Way in Bellevue.
Fortune Bank, a commercial bank currently in organization, has named founder and board member Brett Smith as executive vice president and SBA general manager. Fortune plans to open for business this month in Seattle.
Washington State University alumnus and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Scott E. Carson and his wife, Linda Carson, have donated $1 million to WSU's College of Business. The gift will provide need-based scholarships to WSU students participating in the business school's international activities.
Oki Developments has promoted Nancy Cho to chief executive officer of Oki Developments and Oki Golf. Cho has been the company's president since 1995. Oki Golf has five public and two private courses, and is headquartered in Bellevue.
