Law firm Stoel Rives hired Cathryn V. Dammel to its Labor and Employment Practice Group in the Seattle office. Dammel has 22 years of experience and last worked at Alaska Airlines. Stoel Rives has 350 attorneys in nine offices nationally.
Banner Bank promoted Yana Rogers to vice president at its Bellevue Commercial Center. Rogers will continue to serve as SBA loan officer. Prior to joining Banner Bank in 2005, Rogers worked with Temecula Valley Bank in Bellevue. Banner Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla.
Equal Rights Washington hired Connie Watts as executive director. Watts worked in Washington, D.C., where she was national field director for Planned Parenthood Federation of America for seven years. Equal Rights Washington works to promote dignity, safety and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Washingtonians.



DBM Contractors won the International Association of Foundation Drilling Quality Contractor of the Year Award. The award was presented at the association's recent annual meeting in Orlando, Fla. The award is based upon adherence to contract standards and specifications, as well as conformance with internal written quality control plans.
Mike Poppoff of Yakima's Poppoff Inc. was elected vice president of the American Society of Concrete Contractors based in St. Louis.

Joe and Maureen Brotherton, through their private SOS Foundation, have created the Brotherton Scholarship in Law, Business, the Arts and Public Service, and funded it with a $125,000 gift. Each scholarship will be $5,000 a year for five years. The scholarships will be awarded by Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle University School of Business, University of Washington School of Business, University of Washington Law School Foundation and Seattle nonprofit Teens in Public Service.
Bremerton-based WSB Financial Group, parent company of Westsound Bank, said Brent Stenman is stepping down as chief lending officer. He will remain with the company assuming management and lending responsibilities for the Poulsbo and North Kitsap market. WSB Financial is searching for a replacement.
Economic and consulting firm Northern Economics promoted Bill Schenken as consultant in the Bellingham office. Schenken started with Northern Economics as an intern in January 2006, then transitioned to a part-time position. Northern Economics also has an office in Anchorage.
