Seattle Goodwill

Seattle Goodwill hired Catherine McConnell as vice president of communications and development. McConnell was manager of development, outreach and participant relations at the University of Washington. Seattle Goodwill is a nonprofit that provides services for low-income and disadvantaged people.

HaloSource

HaloSource of Bothell, an antimicrobial and clean technology solutions company, hired Stephen Himley as engineering project manager of water applications and Steve Carver as mechanical and plastics designer. They will focus on designing HaloPure water purification cartridges and devices, which will be used in global water purification companies' products.

Pacific Biometrics

Seattle-based Pacific Biometrics hired Richard J. Gordon as vice president of business development and sales and marketing. Gordon was with Molecular Devices in Sunnyvale, Calif. Pacific Biometrics is a provider of specialized central laboratory and contract research services.

Silver Creek Capital Management

Seattle-based Silver Creek Capital Management hired Stephen Prince as managing director. Prince is a founding partner of Pivot Capital Advisors, a long/short equity hedge fund, and will be based in the New York office. Silver Creek is a fund of hedge funds management firm with offices in Seattle and New York.

Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau

The Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau named Terry Kastner technical consultant and hired Krystal Bronson as office manager. Kastner has extensive experience in the wall and ceiling industry and will provide services to association members and the architectural and construction communities.

Mayes Testing Engineers

Kotomaimoce
Edmonds
Lynnwood-based Mayes Testing Engineers promoted inspectors Beorn Edmonds and Yavita Kotomaimoce to project managers. In their new roles, they are providing project management and supervising on-site inspections. Edmonds has been with the firm for eight years. He holds many Washington Association of Building Officials' licenses and a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from Western Washington University. Kotomaimoce has been with the firm for seven years. He holds many WABO licenses and has extensive concrete and masonry experience.

DBM Contractors

Niekamp
Federal Way's DBM Contractors hired Bryce Niekamp as a design engineer responsible for researching and designing earth retention structures, as well as micropile and drilled shaft construction based on geotechnical and structural data. He hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington. Prior to joining DBM, he worked as a civil engineer/project manager in Yosemite National Park.

PSF Mechanical

Dana Hannan joined PSF Mechanical as a project manager and Kevin McLean joined as a senior project manager. Hannan has worked in the HVAC industry for more than 25 years. McLean holds a bachelor's degree in construction management and has more than 26 years of HVAC industry experience.

PSI

PSI hired Dan Curley as a business development associate in its Mountlake Terrace office. Curley holds a bachelor's degree in recreation management from Eastern Washington University. PSI is an engineering testing firm headquartered near Chicago.

Master Builders Care Foundation

The Master Builders Care Foundation and its local builder captains were recently honored at the San Francisco Gold Nugget Awards ceremony for helping homeless families and teens. The group won three out of four awards in the Building Industry Community Spirit category for its work on three homeless shelters in King and Snohomish counties. The builder captains included Barclay's North of Everett, John Day Homes of North Bend, Kirtley-Cole Associates of Everett, Allen Construction Services of Issaquah, Revisioneers of Issaquah and Shirey Contracting of Issaquah. The foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. The awards program was part of the annual Pacific Coast Builders Conference trade show.
