JayRay

Tacoma-based communications consultancy JayRay hired Diane Schuirman-Hagedorn as an advisor. Schuirman-Hagedorn has worked with Washington CEO magazine and Tacoma Community College.

The Westin Seattle

The Westin Seattle hired Theresa Segal as director of human resources. Segal has staffed and built the human resources departments at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas and Caesars Indiana.

Lane Powell

Law firm Lane Powell hired Jeffrey M. Odom as an associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Odom has worked with Williams, Kastner & Gibbs in Seattle and with Evert & Weathersby in Atlanta.

BizBuilders

BizBuilders, a Bremerton-based business networking group, hired Howard Howell as regional director for Pierce and King counties. BizBuilders plans to launch up to seven more groups this year in those areas. Howell has been an entrepreneur for 40 years.

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle will open a new sleep laboratory on its main campus in early 2008. The sleep lab is under the direction and supervision of Ralph Pascualy, whose physician practice group NW Somnologists, will also join the hospital's medical staff. The group will lease space in the sleep lab, which will have eight private suites and will offer progressive diagnostic equipment and treatment.

Marcus & Millichap

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services promoted Robert L. Sheppard to vice president of investments. Sheppard is in the Seattle office. Sheppard joined in 1993 as an associate in the Seattle office. In 2001, he formed the National Tax Credit Property Advisors. He serves as a senior director of the National Multi Housing Group and was elected senior investment associate in 2001.

Opus Northwest

Northpointe Corporate Campus Northpointe, a 90-acre campus that Opus Northwest is developing, has a new tenant: Comcast, the cable and broadband communications provider. Comcast's 88,000-square-foot customer service center and regional headquarters will eventually house more than 500 people. Other tenants are pharmaceutical company Berlex Laboratory and Cypress Semiconductor.

Opus will continue to develop the 90-acre park over the next 24 months. Gary Bullington and Tom Bohman of Cushman & Wakefield are leasing agents for Northpointe.

City of Renton

The Renton City Council has formed a new citizen task force for the Highlands neighborhood. Over the next 12-18 months, the 15-member task force will work with the city to find ways to revitalize the area, including community development and public infrastructure. Renton Councilmember Terri Briere will chair the task force. Robert Bonner, Jr., Renton Planning Commission, will serve as the vice-chair. Other members include landowners, renters, business owners, representatives from the Renton School District and a representative of a local church. Cascade Commercial Properties

Peter Johndrow, associate with Cascade Commercial Properties, a Bellevue commercial real estate firm, represented Aventine LLC in its recent purchase of the Monroe Petosa's Restaurant building located at 19191 State Route 2 in Monroe. The building sits on 34,400 square feet of land and is 6,200 square feet. The price was $1.8 million. Aventine LLC plans to develop 12,000 square feet of in-line retail there.

Clearwire

Kirkland-based Clearwire Corp. promoted Dr. John Saw to chief technology officer. Saw has been vice president of engineering since the company was founded in 2003. He replaces Nick Kauser, who is retiring. Clearwire is a provider of wireless high-speed Internet.

Purcell Systems

Purcell Systems in Spokane Valley hired Lyle Jordan as chief operating officer. Jordan was president and CEO for Western Electronics and chairman of the board for iTerra Communications. Purcell provides customized equipment support solutions for the broadband communications industry.

Steinbrueck Native Gallery

The Steinbrueck Native Gallery will open in downtown Seattle on Aug. 10 with an open house between 6 and 9 p.m. The gallery is at 2030 Western Ave. It is owned by Elizabeth Steinbrueck. Call (206) 441-3821 for more information.

Lynnwood-based Stevenson Advertising hired Tom Knoop as media traffic and research coordinator. Knoop recently graduated from the University of Washington. Stevenson Advertising is a full service ad agency.
