Express Construction

Fenske
Engel
Mercer Island-based Express Construction hired John Engel as project manager and Tom Fenske as superintendent, both in the shell and core division. Engel is working on a 24,000-square-foot Bellevue office building and a 55-unit multifamily project in SeaTac. He has nearly 25 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and industrial psychology from Morningside College. Fenske is working on a 32-unit apartment in Magnolia. He has more than 20 years of construction experience, including eight years as a Seabee in the Navy Reserve, and studied construction management at Edmonds Community College.

Kerwin
Seattle's Holaday-Parks hired Rick Kerwin as project manager, Michael Baranick as mechanical engineer and Crystal Heyen as reprographics coordinator. Kerwin has more than seven years of experience in mechanical construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of New Mexico. Baranick has four years of engineering experience and holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Santa Clara University. Heyen has five years of administrative experience. She studied business management at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

PSI

Deane Ramsdell is the new business development manager for PSI's Seattle and Tacoma operations. Ramsdell has been with the firm since 2000 and is working in the Tacoma office. PSI is an engineering testing firm.

Salish Lodge & Spa

Salish Lodge & Spa promoted Carl Meyer to general manager. Meyer had been resident manager and director of rooms.

Virginia Mason Medical Center

Virginia Mason Medical Center appointed Steve Schaefer to an executive leadership role for Health Information Services. Schaefer will maintain his current position as vice president of finance and assume additional responsibilities in his new role.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank promoted Steven W. Rust to executive vice president and chief information officer. Rust has served as Banner Bank's SVP and CIO since September 2004. Banner Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla.

DNA Brand Mechanics

DNA Brand Mechanics, a Seattle-based communications firm, hired George Cawman and Carole Hurst. Cawman will be director of client services. He was a vice president at DDB Advertising in Chicago. Hurst is the creative director. She worked at GSD&M in Austin.

Virginia Mason Medical Center

Virginia Mason Medical Center hired four new physicians. James Collins joined the Emergency Department. Paul Kassab will work in general internal medicine. Julie Reimann will work with the pathology team. Kurt Graham will work with the inpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation team.

SNW

Seattle-Northwest Securities, an investment banking firm, hired Richard A. Schober Jr. as senior vice president of public finance. Schober was a vice president at Goldman Sachs where he worked with the Port of Seattle and the Port of Tacoma, and served as financial advisor on the first Sound Transit bond issue.
