Tulalip Resort Casino

The Tulalip Resort Casino hired Marco Baumann as general manager of the new hotel and spa scheduled to open this summer. Baumann has 21 years experience in the hotel industry and has worked with the Sorrento Hotel, The Kimpton Group and the Seattle Madison Renaissance Hotel.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo named Josh Williams Seattle metro business banking manager. He will oversee 18 team members. Williams has worked with Wells Fargo since 1996 and was a business banking manager overseeing the Business Sales Officer Team.

Pierce County Board of Equalization

Applications are being accepted to fill two vacancies on the Pierce County Board of Equalization. The seven-member board hears appeals from taxpayers who disagree with the assessed value of their properties as determined by the Assessor-Treasurer's Office. Members receive a per diem amount for attending board meetings. Applications are due by Feb. 15 and can be requested online at pcexecutive@co.pierce.wa.us.

MessageGate

Bellevue-based MessageGate, a company focused on e-mail controls for corporate governance initiatives, made promotions and new hires. It promoted Norbert Orth from vice president of sales and marketing to president and CEO, replacing Shaun Wolfe, who is now chairman. It also hired Chris Bradley as vice president of marketing and business development.

Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen promoted three staff architects to associates: Ellen Cecil, Jim Friesz and Dan Wilson. Cecil has been with OSKA since 1996, managing private and public projects. She was project manager for Delta Shelter, a Mazama cabin that has won seven awards, including a 2008 AIA National Honor Award. Friesz started at the firm as an intern in 1993. He worked on buildings at Whatcom Community College. Friesz also worked on the Frye Art Museum and is working on a project at 1111 E. Pike St. Wilson has been with OSKA for seven years, working on the Artist's Studio and Horizon at Semiahmoo, a 200-acre residential project.

Jones & Jones Architects + Landscape Architects + Planners promoted three associates to senior associates. Keith Bates was project landscape architect for the Northwest Native Canoe House on South Lake Union, the Hanford Reach National Monument Heritage and Visitors Center in Richland, and project manager for the Lions of Africa Exhibit at John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Mich. Greg Murphy worked on the Washington State Parks Green Vision Master Plan and the Tropical America exhibit at Miami Metrozoo in Florida. Osama Quota worked on the Northwest Native Canoe House, the Confluence Project Pedestrian Land Bridge in Vancouver and the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum in Palm Springs, Calif.

Sparling hired Angelina Manning and Rob Miller as acousticians in its acoustical design studio. Manning previously worked for the Department of Defense as a facilities manager and project engineer. She is working on Microsoft Building 98, the Bravern and an expansion at the Anchorage Museum. Miller is working on the University Place Civic Building and the Kent Events Center. Audio/visual consultants Brian O'Bannon, Shannon Jelenek, Mark July and Peter Babler have all earned their credentials as certified technology specialists by InfoComm International.

BLRB Architects

BLRB Architects promoted two employees to associates, one to senior associate and two to associate principals. Doug DuCharme and Kurt Cross were promoted to associates. DuCharme was formerly the principal-in-charge of educational facility design with Shive-Hattery in Iowa City and has 28 years of experience. Cross has been at BLRB since 1993 and has more than 16 years of experience. Bob Lindstrom was promoted to senior associate. Lindstrom joined BLRB in 1997 and has 18 years of architectural experience. He is working on the new Lakeridge Middle School for the Sumner School District. Ron Harpel and Kit Burns were promoted to associate principals. Harpel is working on the replacement of Curtis Junior High School for University Place School District. Burns worked on the Olympia High School addition and modernization project. Burns is working on Hamilton Middle School for Seattle Public Schools and the Panther Lake Elementary School replacement for the Kent School District.

Cary Kopczynski & Co. hired Waleed Khalid as a senior engineer. Khalid has more than nine years of structural engineering experience and is working on the Lincoln Square expansion in Bellevue.
