EHS Design hired four new employees: Garold Malcolm, Barbara Burkhardt, Trina Nguyen and Aida Malanovic. Malcolm joins the firm as a principal, senior architect and project manager. For 26 years he was co-principal of McAdoo, Malcolm & Youel Architects. Malcolm's past projects include the Lakewood Fire Station, the Des Moines Library, the Queen Anne Swimming Pool and the Arboretum Visitor Center. Burkhardt joins as a project manager and architect with 20 years of experience. Burkhardt's past projects include the Casey Family Program Headquarters in Seattle, Vinson & Elkins in Houston and the Purdue Memorial Union Renovation in Lafayette, Ind. Nguyen joins the firm as an intern architect with experience on corporate tenant improvements and hospitals. Malanovic also joins the firm as an intern architect.

MulvannyG2 Architecture hired Marie Vinless as director of marketing. Vinless has more than 20 years of experience. Most recently, Vinless worked at Dull Olson Weekes Architects in Portland. She was recently named the 2007 Society for Marketing Professional Services Marketer of the Year by the Oregon Chapter.

BHC Consultants hired Peter Cunningham as a staff engineer. Cunningham is a registered engineer-in-training and is currently working on the South Central Kitsap Force Main Replacement Project.

Moniz
CollinsWoerman hired Harold Moniz as a senior planner. Moniz has 20 years of experience. He will be responsible for developing sustainable solutions to meet client planning needs. Moniz served as planning director for the city of Ketchum, Idaho, where he worked on downtown and transportation master plans, zoning for affordable workforce housing and regional planning.

Johnston Architects hired architectural designer Pablo Pizarro. He has 16 years of experience in a va­riety of project types in Seattle and Portland. The firm also promoted four others. Sally Roth was promoted to senior associate. She is project manager for two mid-rise condominium projects in downtown Tacoma and three mixed-use River Park development buildings in Redmond. Scheer Chan, Sara Imhoff and Andrew Russin were promoted to associates. Chan has been with the firm for two years and has 10 years of experience. He is working on a Children's Services Center for the Puyallup tribe and 63 oceanfront homes in Westport. Imhoff has been with the firm for three years. She is working on the Footprint at the Bridge townhomes in Fremont, which are targeting LEED platinum status, the East Vancouver Regional Library and the CASA Latina Day Workers Center. Russin has been with the firm for three years and was project architect on a variety of single- and multi-family projects including a 6,000-square-foot home in Mazama and a four-unit townhouse in Queen Anne. He is working on a seven-story apartment complex in the U-District and two 180-unit apartment buildings in Redmond.

Redmond-based Magellan Architects promoted Dirk McCulloch to team leader. His new duties include supporting the firm's business operations, business development and office management efforts in addition to his role as project manager on new single-family homes and church renovation projects. Heather Tomlin was promoted to account leader for Garlic Jim's Famous Gourmet Pizza in addition to her project management and interior design duties. Her current projects include the Meadowbrook Church Renovation in Redmond and tenant improvements for the Pacific Northwest Law Group and three Puget Sound area Thrive Fitness Centers.

Coffman Engineers

Coffman Enginers promoted Emery Ojala and Arvind Nerurkar to principals in its structural department. Ojala and Nerurkar took over management of the department Jan. 1, the final stage of a three-year leadership transition process. Ojala has 10 years of experience, including project administration from the client contact stage to the preparation of proposals, contract administration, and value engineering. Nerurkar has been with Coffman for nine years. His background includes structural analysis and design of buildings, modular work platforms and mobile equipment, 3-D computer modeling using linear and non-linear analysis, and seismic and structural retrofits of existing structures. His projects include airport terminals, educational and hospital facilities, transfer and conveyance equipment for mining materials and concrete grain silos, light gauge steel commercial and residential buildings and seismic retrofits.

Door To Door Storage

Kent-based Door To Door Storage, a national provider of portable self-storage and moving services, hired Annette Jacobs as president and chief executive officer. Jacobs was chair and chief executive officer of SafeHarbor Technology Corp.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank's Commercial Loan Center in Woodinville promoted Deanna Mantie to assistant vice president/commercial loan officer. She was formerly a senior credit analyst and has worked for Banner Bank since 2005. Banner Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla.

Willows Lodge

Willows Lodge, a Northwest-style lodge in Woodinville, hired Lisa Funk as director of financial operations. Funk was a project manager of MTM Luxury Lodging in Kirkland.

PRR

PRR, a Seattle-based public affairs and communications firm, has promoted five staff members. Jamie Strausz-Clark is a senior associate II. Kirsten Hauge is a senior associate. Amy Danberg is an associate II. Lauren Brisbo is an account executive for media relations. Joe Martin is a marketing account executive.

Port of Tacoma

The Port of Tacoma hired Tom Kress as senior project manager. Kress has 30 years experience and was a project manager with Berger/Abam Engineers.
