KeyBank promoted Tim McLaughlin and Stanford M. Brown. McLaughlin is now senior vice president and business banking sales leader for the South Puget Sound District. He will lead the Business Banking North Team. Brown is now market manager for KeyBank's private banking office in Seattle. Both have 20 years of banking experience.
The Seattle office of law firm Davis Wright Tremaine has established a new position, manager of diversity initiatives, to develop the firm's diversity goals and strategies. Karen K. Russell, an employment law and corporate diversity attorney at DWT, will fill this new role. Russell will develop diversity best practices.
Seattle-based Recreational Equipment promoted Michelle Clements, Matt Hyde, Brian Unmacht and Catherine Walker. Clements is senior vice president of human resources and has been at REI since 2004. Hyde is executive vice president of merchandising and marketing and has been at REI since 1985. Unmacht is executive vice president of sales, service, store development and logistics and has been at REI since 1986. Walker is senior vice president of legal, general counsel and corporate secretary and joined REI in 2006 after serving on REI's board of directors since 1998.

Derek Beaman and
David Eckmann to senior vice presidents and owners. Beaman is leader of MKA’s Convention Center Specialist Group. He is working on the Phoenix Convention Center expansion, the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage, and the Indiana Convention Center expansion. Eckmann is manager of the Chicago office and is working on several projects in Chicago, including the Blue Cross/Blue Shield vertical expansion, the River Point Tower and the Columbia College Media Center. TCF Architecture of Tacoma promoted
Gerry Pless to associate. Pless joined TCF Architecture in 2006 and has 22 years of experience, specializing in schools. Pless is working on Highline School District’s Marvista Elementary School, Seattle Public School’s recent Ingraham High School renovation and the Life Center remodel and addition. The firm also hired four people.
Steve Barden relocated to the Northwest from Nebraska and is working on Highline School District’s Parkside Elementary School.
Todd Anderson joins as a draftsman and is also working on Marvista Elementary.

Tetra Tech hired 10 new employees.
Tom Bumstead is a fisheries engineer with more than 25 years of experience. Bumstead is working on stream restoration for the Big Gulch sewer replacement in Mukilteo, designing Chief Joseph Hatchery’s fish ladder near Bridgeport and intake screens for the acclimation ponds near Riverside and Omak.
Russell Mau has more than 15 years of experience and is working on performance evaluation of the Elliott West CSO Facility and evaluation of a CSO bar screen facility in Des Moines, Iowa.
Victoria Bruder is assisting Tetra Tech’s Electrical and Controls Group with CADD production.
Brad Frayo joins Tetra Tech’s controls group, working on Lake Whatcom telemetry upgrades and lift station start ups, Alderwood Water District telemetry upgrades and design projects for King County.
Agnes Ho has worked as a civil engineer on a range of projects, including drainage and civil design for light rail, stormwater comprehensive plans, mine site restoration, and watershed protection measures. She is working on Bellevue’s Lake Sammamish culvert repairs system analysis and the Coal Creek bank stabilization and water quality monitoring programs.
Joan Montgomery has 16 years of experience in civil engineering. She is providing site civil engineering for the Operations Building and Transit Police Facilities of King County Metro’s Atlantic/Central Base Expansion program.

Kathy Thompson is an IT administrator with responsibility for hardware/software support for eight Tetra Tech offices in four states.
Travis Yi, with 10 years experience in IT services, is responsible for network and server administration, advanced software support, hardware and software procurement and the help desk.
Sara Wrenn is applying her physical science background to watershed management projects and providing GIS assistance. She is working on the Tolt River Watershed Management Plan for Seattle Public Utilities and on the Crescent City-Del Norte County, Calif., hazard mitigation plan.
KPFF hired former employee
Beth Jensen as a senior structural engineer. Jensen has 23 years of experience and her most recent experience includes mixed-use, multi-family, retail, condos and single-family residences. Jensen is currently working on the Evergreen Space Museum in McMinnville, Ore., a boutique hotel in California and condo projects in the Seattle area.
