Adams
Roberts
KBA promoted Mike Roberts and K. Wendell Adams to firm principals. Roberts joined KBA in 2007 as a senior program manager, spearheading development of the Construction Management and Quality Control Program and working with clients throughout the region. Roberts has 20 years of experience. He is managing projects for Seattle Department of Transportation, Bothell, Tukwila and Snohomish County. Adams has been a senior program manager at KBA since 2006. He manages work for SDOT, Burien, Oak Harbor, Sammamish and Shoreline. He has more than 25 years of experience.

Sparling

Janof
Sparling promoted Tim Janof to associate principal. Janof specializes in electrical engineering and project management and has nearly 20 years of experience. He joined Sparling in 1995 and leads sustainable design research initiatives and heads a program to promote continuing education. Janof is working on projects for Amazon, Microsoft and the Westin Building in Seattle.

Hermansen
Core Design promoted Lafe Hermansen and Ken Shipley to associate partners. Hermansen has been with the firm since 2000 and leads the planning department. Hermansen's projects include master planned communities in Chelan and Silverdale, and several low impact development projects such as green roof and rain garden designs in Kirkland, and bioretention swales in Whatcom County. Shipley leads Core's survey department overseeing field survey operations, construction layout and staking. His current projects include overseeing survey services at Port Blakely Communities' Issaquah Highlands project and Polygon Northwest's Lakeland and Riverview projects in Kent and Auburn respectively. The firm also hired Nancy Robertson as office manager. Robertson was a vice president at Edelman Public Relations.

Hart Crowser

Stainsby
Hart Crowser hired Ross Stainsby in its Seattle office. Stainsby is a hydrogeologist and environmental specialist with 20 years of experience working for clients such as Sound Transit and Unocal. Stainsby's specialties are stormwater permitting and groundwater treatment system design. He is supporting industrial NPDES permitting and compliance for a boat manufacturer, environmental remediation for Tacoma and cleanup of lead-contaminated soil.

Kennedy/Jenks Consultants

Huston
Kennedy/Jenks Consultants named Patrick T. Huston director of the water environment group. Huston will provide strategic leadership and development of the practice, and oversight of client service and project development activities. Huston has more than 15 years of experience in water resources consulting and planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and recycled water facilities. Huston was the Southern California regional manager.

Shugart Bates made 10 hires. Tiffany Bowie was hired as a design associate. Bowie has six years of experience and is working on a remodel of the Sound Mind and Body gym in Fremont. Richard S. Coxon was hired as a senior technical architect, in charge of the office quality control program. Coxon has more than 30 years of architectural experience. Roy Ley was hired as a design associate. Ley is working on a commercial/mixed use development on Alki in West Seattle. Codi Lodi was also hired as a design associate. Lodi has strong computer and design skills and is working on a sustainable multi-family project in the University District. Kim Mankowski was hired as interiors project manager. Mankowski has more than eight years of experience in residential and commercial interiors. She is working on the interiors for a large waterfront home. The firm also hired Chris McAdams as a design associate. McAdams is acting in a support role for a mixed-use development on the west slope of Queen Anne. Nancy Pascoe was hired as marketing coordinator. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and publishing and was formerly administrative and marketing coordinator for Ross Chapin Architects on Whidbey Island. Lindsey Runyon was hired as an interior designer. Runyon is working on the interiors for several multi-family projects. Aaron Schaefer was hired as a design associate. Schaefer has 10 years of experience and is project lead on Essex on the Park, a 10-story residential project in Bellevue. Architect Jon Szczesniak has five years of experience with a background in computer technology. He is spearheading the move to Revet modeling technology while serving as project architect on a large mixed-use project in Bellevue.

ESM

ESM hired Rusty Gigstead as senior engineer. Gigstead has more than 20 years of design and project management experience on civil transportation, project construction, system planning, utility design, and conservation and environmental restoration projects. Gigstead was a design engineer and project inspector for WSDOT. His past projects include the Kittitas County Taneum Creek fish passage study, Ephrata bike and pedestrian path, State Route 2 Widening over Stevens Pass and the Olympia Freeway Expansion. Andrew Campbell has been hired as assistant planner. Campbell has performed lead roles in SEPA review, code administration and ensured compliance with FWCC regulations and state and national environmental guidelines. Campbell is working on residential, commercial and mixed-use projects.

Kibble and Prentice

Kibble & Prentice, an insurance and financial services company, hired Sarah Cornelius-Campos as sales executive in the Commercial Insurance Division.

Pacific Continental Bank

Pacific Continental Bank hired Amy Byrum as vice president and commercial banking officer, Maria Rivera as vice president and senior underwriter portfolio manager, and Phuong Au as assistant vice president and relationship banking officer. Byrum and Rivera will work from the bank's Bellevue office. Au will work in downtown Seattle.

Apex Facility Resources

Apex Facility Resources, a Seattle-based commercial office furniture dealer and relocation company, hired Bill Littler as sales manager. Littler has 21 years of sales and management experience in the industry.

Holland America Line

Holland America Line hired Brendan Vierra as vice president, human resources. Tim Murphy will succeed Vierra as vice president, guest programs. Vierra joined the company in 1997. Murphy joined the company in 1987.

WaMu

Seattle-based Washington Mutual hired John P. McMurray as chief enterprise risk officer. McMurray will oversee the company's risk management functions, including credit risk, interest rate risk, market risk, operational risk and audit. He replaces Ron Cathcart, who has left the company. McMurray was the company's chief credit officer.
