Almeida
Absher Construction Co. hired Linda Almeida as a senior accountant and Tammy Woods as a human resources administrator. Almeida has more than 15 years of construction accounting experience and is working on special projects in the company’s main office in Puyallup. Woods is handling the daily administration of the company’s benefit plans, as well as maintaining the HR/payroll system and assisting with Absher University. She has 10 years of experience in HR, benefits, recruiting, training and administration.

Howard S. Wright

Miller
Peyovich
Howard S. Wright promoted Dan Peyovich to senior project manager and added Raphael Miller as a project manager and Alan Sutherland as safety director. Peyovich has been with the company for nine years. Miller works in the Special Projects Group, specializing in sustainable construction. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Ohio State University and is a LEED AP. Sutherland has been in the safety industry for 26 years, including 20 years with the state Department of Labor and Industries. He also teaches construction safety at the University of Washington.

MBA of Pierce County

The Master Builders Association of Pierce County and the Remodelors Council recently held their 12th annual Remodeling Excellence Awards program. The winners included: H. York Enterprises for Residential Interior Design/Architecture, Residential Kitchen over $125K (honorable mention) and Residential Specialty/Open (honorable mention); Neu Construction for Residential Specialty/Open; MRF Construction for Historic Renovation/Restoration, Residential Bath over $75K and Residential Kitchen over $125K; Reier Construction for Residential Bath $25K-$75K and Residential Kitchen $30K-$60K (honorable mention); Reding Construction for Residential Addition over $150K; Renewal Construction and Remodeling for Residential Addition under $75K, Residential Kitchen under $30K, Residential Kitchen $30K-$60K, Residential Kitchen $60K-$125K, Whole House $75K-$150K and Whole House $150K-$500K; and Shattuck & Associates for Whole House over $500K. The companies were judged by outside home building associations on the quality, use of appropriate materials and designs, creativity and workmanship of their projects.

Chaffey Homes

Chaffey Homes won the Single-Family Custom Home of the Year award from the National Association of Home Builders. The home uses solar power, high-efficiency windows, awnings, Energy Star appliances and water-saving appliances. An old house that sat on the job site was deconstructed and 80 percent of the materials reused for the new house

McKinley Irvin

Seattle-based family law firm McKinley Irvin hired Chad Eubanks as an associate attorney. Eubanks worked at Brewe Layman in Everett.

Ogden Murphy Wallace

Ogden Murphy Wallace, a law firm with offices in Seattle and Wenatchee, named Barbara A. Schafer executive director. Schafer has 20 years experience and will manage all operational aspects of the firm.

Riddell Williams

Seattle-based law firm Riddell Williams hired three attorneys — Karl Quackenbush, Bryce Holland and Kyle Branum — as principals. Quackenbush has 30 years experience and was a partner at K&L Gates. Holland has 30 years experience and was Seattle office managing partner at Dorsey & Whitney. Branum was at Perkins Coie. Riddell Williams also hired Merkys Gómez and William Brewer as associates. Gómez was at Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd in Chicago. Brewer was with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Elizabeth Arden

Elizabeth Arden is opening its first Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in the Pacific Northwest at The Bravern in Bellevue. The 6,000-square-foot spa will open in 2009. It will have nine treatment rooms with manicure and pedicure stations, a hair salon, and relaxation areas. The Bravern is a new development with an outdoor shopping area.
