Egis Real Estate Services

Egis Real Estate Services has promoted Jason Sin to journeyman operating engineer upon his completion of the Egis journeyman operating engineer training program. This involved 900 hours of schooling and 10,000 hours of on the job training/time in rank in addition to his full-time job at Egis.

CP Management

Randi Pierson, property manager with CP Management, has received LEED accreditation. The accreditation is part of CP Management's commitment to managing buildings in an environmentally conscious way. CP manages Class A office, technology and industrial space in the Seattle area.

Allen Brackett Shedd

Gregory L. Goodman, an associate with Allen Brackett Shedd, has been awarded the Appraisal Institute's MAI membership designation. It is held by appraisers who are experienced in the valuation of commercial, industrial, residential and other types of properties. Goodman has been actively engaged in the appraisal of real property since 2000.

Emeritus

Seattle-based Emeritus Corp., a provider of assisted-living and related services to senior citizens, closed on the first phase of the purchase of 29 communities from Health Care REIT. The communities were formerly operated by Emeritus under long-term leases. This first phase closing consists of 19 communities with 1,564 units. The price was $222.7 million.

NAIOP summer social

The NAIOP Developing Leaders Group will hold a summer social on the rooftop deck of the Reedo Building (Near Qwest Field) on Thursday, July 10, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The space has been donated by Urban Visions. NAIOP South Sound meeting

The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties will hold its South Sound breakfast meeting on Friday, July 11, in the Tacoma Club-Rainier Room, 1201 Pacific Ave., starting at 7:30 a.m. with registration. The topic is “Cleaning up Puget Sound — What are the Real Estate Industry's Responsibilities?” with David Dicks, a Seattle environmental lawyer and executive director of the Puget Sound Partnership. John L. Scott Real Estate, Edmonds appointed Scott MacKay as managing broker. He has 28 years experience as an agent, broker and owner in the Puget Sound area and lives in Edmonds.

ShoreBank Pacific

ShoreBank Pacific, a sustainable bank, moved its Portland office to the historic Telegram Building. The move reflects the bank's recent growth and continued commitment to sustainable community development. The Portland staff now totals 19, compared to seven employees five years ago.

Allstate Insurance

Allstate Insurance Co. opened a new agency in Seattle at 3220 Claremont Ave. S. It is owned and operated by Agent Khoa Dang and offers a complete line of products and services.

Weyerhaeuser

Federal Way-based Weyerhaeuser Co. promoted Thomas F. Gideon to executive vice president, forest products, and John A. Hooper to senior vice president, human resources. Gideon succeeds Richard E. Hanson, who is retiring. Hanson has been executive vice president and chief operating officer since 2003. Hooper succeeds Edward P. Rogel, who is also retiring and has led the human resources department since 2003.

Expeditors International

Expeditors International of Washington said Sandy K.Y. Liu, the company's chief operating officer-Asia, has tendered his resignation. Liu has been in the post for seven years, before which he spent 31 years with China Airlines, and was president of the airline. Expeditors is a global logistics based in Seattle.
