The environmental planning, design and construction services firm Brown and Caldwell hired five engineers in its Seattle office. David Bergdolt was hired infrastructure practice leader. He has more than 14 years of experience and specializes in large-scale municipal infrastructure projects. Kurt Marx joined the water resources group as a senior engineer, bringing more than 10 years of experience in water quality assessments and environmental engineering projects for municipal clients. Darold Woodward was hired as a supervising engineer in the electrical and process automation services group. Woodward has more than 18 years of experience designing and implementing electrical and control systems for water, wastewater, pump stations and hydroelectric generation facilities. Vicki Zeledon also joined the wastewater group and Jacob Cox joined the electrical process and automation services group.

Walker Macy promoted two employees to principal, one to associate principal and five to associate. Mauricio Villarreal and Eric Bode were promoted to principals. Villarreal focuses on contemporary landscapes in urban settings and Bode specializes in educational facilities and public open space projects. Charles Brucker was promoted to associate principal. Jarvis Payne, Chelsea McCann, Ken Pirie and Stephen Ray were promoted to associates. Payne specializes in innovative and site-specific landscapes that energize urban life, McCann specializes in managing large-scale sustainable projects in urban settings, Pirie focuses on environmentally sensitive campus planning and urban design, and Ray has expertise in project management and technical review skills.

WHPacific's Olympia office recently hired or promoted six employees. Michael Pawlak is the new operations manager. His primary focus is management of office resources and he has more than 30 years of transportation engineering and planning experience. Pawlak's addition makes way for former operations manager Susan Rants to move to director of land development, where she will support the firm's business development goals. Li Malikasim, a structural engineer with 26 years of experience, transferred from the Portland office. Bryan Ewing, Doug Beagle and Julia Hanson joined the transportation group. Ewing and Beagle each have more than 20 years of experience and provide construction management services. Hanson is a professional engineer-in-training with two years of experience. Jimmie McKenzie and John Bentley joined the survey group. McKenzie has more than 20 years of experience in both the office and field, and Bentley is a professional land surveyor with nearly 30 years of experience.

King County Animal Care and Control

King County's Animal Care and Control Section hired Wendy Keller as acting manager and Tom Brown as assistant acting manager. Keller has worked with King County for 19 years and was recently the project control officer concentrating on construction and professional contract services. Brown has 30 years experience managing public safety operations. Al Dams, former acting manager, is now strategic planner and operational development manager for the Records and Licensing Division.

Revenue Science

Revenue Science of Seattle promoted Jeff Hirsch to president and chief executive officer. Hirsch had been president. He replaces Bill Gossman, who was CEO for five years and will remain on the board. Revenue Science works with behavioral targeting technology for digital media.

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County announced new staffing changes. The Resource Development Department hired Suzanne Hight to manage two major events, KidsAuction and KidsBreakfast. It promoted Rachel Doxtater to communications and public relations director, Angela Arzaga to communications assistant and Terry McKiel to resource development manager. The Human Resources Department hired Paris Ramsey as benefits manager and Tara Irvin as interim HR assistant and trainer. The Finance Department hired Judy Hademan as accounts payable coordinator.

Walsh Construction employees Joe Grim, Derek Johnson, Marie Delano and Afton Walsh have become LEED Accredited Professionals. Johnson and Walsh are assistant superintendents, Grim is a project engineer and Delano is a project administrator. Walsh is based in the Portland office, while the rest are based in Seattle. The general contractor now has 16 LEED Accredited Professionals on its staff.

Gig Harbor's Wade Perrow Construction added Jon Dower and Darcey Hardeman as project engineers, and Carrie Finch and Debra Allen in administration. Dower, a West Point graduate with an environmental engineering background, is working on a design-build office building in Olympia. Hardeman, who has six years of industry experience, is assigned to a new health care facility at the Washington Corrections Center for Women in Purdy. Finch, with 10 years of accounting experience, is taking care of accounts payable and receivable. Allen is responsible for payroll and subcontracts. She has more than 20 years of accounting experience.

Kassel Construction

Redmond-based Kassel Construction promoted Matt Vernon to vice president. Vernon has worked for the company for 10 years. Kassel is a general contractor with revenues topping $45 million annually.

PSF Mechanical

Byron
Mike Byron joined PSF Mechanical as a project executive. Byron has more than 24 years of industry experience. He holds an associate's degree in industrial engineering and a technology diploma in energy management. PSF is a design-build mechanical contractor.

Hill International

Hill International hired Donald W. Davis as senior vice president and Northwest regional manager for its Project Management Group. Davis has more than 35 years of program, project and construction management experience. Before joining Hill, he held management roles at Earth Tech, URS Construction Services and CH2M Hill. He also served as a project manager and project controls engineer for King County Metro. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial and management engineering from Montana State University. He will be based in Hill's Bellevue office. The firm provides program management, project management, construction management, and construction claims and consulting services.

Puget Sound Energy

Puget Sound Energy honored four local contractors at its second annual Powerful Achievement Awards. The awards are given to installers of energy-efficient lighting in small businesses. A platinum award went to CJ Electrical Supply & Services of Tukwila. Silver awards went to Bellingham's Energy Conservation Services (a division of North Coast Electric) and Federal Way's United Energy Technology. The Best Customer Experience Award went to Brite Solutions of Ferndale.

Matter Group

Matter Group, creator of the children's eco-adventure trading card game Xeko, hired Abby Katzman and Greg Camenzind, and promoted Mark Gross and Tyler Bielman. Katzman is director of digital media. She has worked with Microsoft and Experience Music Project. Camenzind is project and production manager. Gross is vice president of marketing and communication. Bielman is vice president of research and development.

DeVry University

DeVry University in Federal Way hired David Stewart as president of Seattle Metro, which includes DeVry University and the Keller Graduate School of Management locations in Federal Way and Bellevue and Portland. He replaces Reed Hackett, who has assumed the role of chief academic officer for the Seattle Metro after a seven-year term as president. Stewart joined DeVry University in 2005 as an admissions advisor.

South Seattle Community College

South Seattle Community College hired Bennett Taves as dean of transportation. He will be responsible for different automotive programs including automotive technology and automotive collision repair. Taves was a tenured welding instructor at Lake Washington Technical College.
