HOK

The architectural design firm HOK hired Edward K. “Ted” McCagg II as vice president of its aviation and transportation group. McCagg has more than 40 years of experience in planning and designing aviation and transportation facilities, including involvement in projects at 50 airports throughout the U.S. and abroad. At Sea-Tac International Airport, McCagg has been involved in various expansion projects since 1968. Most recently, he led the South Terminal Expansion Project, a 14-gate concourse replacement, terminal addition and five-story port office tower. He was formerly director of the transportation practice at NBBJ in Seattle.

The Berger Partnership

The Berger Partnership hired Matt Martenson and David Minnery as landscape architecture design staff, and Jason Hirst as its summer intern. Martenson interned at The Berger Partnership last summer, researching water management strategies (the final report received a WASLA Merit Award in 2007). He is working on the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts and Richmond Highlands Park for Shoreline Parks and Recreation. Minnery has more than 15 years of experience as an artist and educator. Minnery is working on the Westpark Redevelopment project in Bremerton, the Washington Park Arboretum East Entry and several residential projects. Hirst is researching and will prepare a final report on Seattle's Green Factor.

NAC|Architecture

NAC|Architecture hired architect Kathy Russell, senior designer Mark Winsor and intern architect Brian Love. Russell was previously with an architectural design firm in Bozeman, Mont., where she worked on high-end residence, resort and other commercial projects in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New York and California. Winsor has more than 22 years of experience on large technical projects such as mass transit, schools and sports stadiums, including Qwest and Safeco fields. He is working on a major addition and modernization project at Oak Harbor High School. Love will be assisting in the design of new schools for the Snohomish School District.

CDi Engineers

Richard D. Moeller, a principal of CDi Engineers, recently attained certification as a Healthcare Facility Design Professional, administered through the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. Moeller has 35 years of experience in the design and management of health care projects.

Murray, Smith & Associates

Murray, Smith & Associates, which specializes in public infrastructure engineering, named senior principal Tom Perry as vice president. Perry has expertise in the water and wastewater fields, serves as the firm's in-house wastewater treatment expert and manages the Everett office.

Golder Associates

Golder Associates hired Gary Gunderson as Seattle operations manager. Gunderson will be responsible for developing opportunities in consulting engineering through contract review, risk evaluation, cost estimating, scheduling and project design. His background includes environmental investigations and remediation related to upland and tideland properties. He also has expertise in demolition and repositioning environmentally impacted properties for redevelopment.

Trindera Engineering

Trindera Engineering, an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm based in Coeur d'Alene, hired Maureen Moss as a senior electrical designer. Moss has more than 35 years of experience in electrical design and drafting, for projects in the municipal, industrial and commercial industries. The firm also hired Steve Parker as a project manager and senior electrical engineer. Parker has more than seven years of experience, specializing in project management for electrical engineering projects in the municipal and commercial industries. His previous positions were with ArcSine Engineering and CH2M Hill in California.

Bernardo-Wills Architects

Bernardo-Wills Architects hired project manager Eric Peterson in its Spokane office. Peterson has more than 15 years of experience and recently worked as a project manager at an architectural firm in Boise.

Gallagher Benefit Services

Gallagher Benefit Services of Bellevue, a lending benefits broker and administrator, hired Kevin Cipoletti as area vice president, sales and marketing. Cipoletti has 20 years of employee benefits experience and last worked with Great-West Healthcare in Bellevue.

Stoel Rives

Stoel Rives hired John Ridge and Ryan Steen in its Seattle office. Ridge returns to the Litigation Practice Group after being an associate with the firm from 2003 and 2007, briefly leaving to be an assistant city attorney for Bellevue. Steen is an associate in the Resources, Development and Environment Practice Group. He was an attorney at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt.

Skyline at First Hill

Skyline at First Hill hired Alan Fletcher as executive director. Fletcher has 34 years of senior living experience and was executive director of a life care community in Naples, Fla. Skyline is an $125 million high-rise and life care community under construction in Seattle.
