The Seattle CPA firm of Peterson Sullivan hired four new accountants: Jessica Hewitt, Jack Holmes, Jackie Mendez and Jamison Scarpelli. Hewitt, Holmes and Scarpelli are associates in the general practice. Mendez is a manager in the audit department.
The Western Washington University College of Business and Economics' Center for Economic Vitality hired Claus Joens as a research analyst. Joens has 20 years of experience working with Ford Motor Co. The center provides free, confidential counseling and technical assistance to business owners and managers throughout Whatcom County.
The 5th Avenue Theatre has made a number of management and personnel changes. David Armstrong is being promoted from producing artistic director to executive producer. Bernadine Griffin is being promoted from theatre advancement and development director to managing director. Bill Berry is being promoted from associate producing artistic director to producing director. Combined, the three will lead the theatre. The new management structure fills the space left by Marilynn Sheldon, who has led the theatre for the last nine seasons.

Mark Reich was named vice president of business development at Dexter + Chaney in Seattle. Reich, a long-time construction software sales and management executive, is focusing on new market and product-development opportunities for the company’s Spectrum Construction Software. He also is leading efforts to strengthen the company’s relationships with other software firms that develop complementary products to Spectrum.
Monroe’s Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. presented its Dealer of the Year award to Creative Cabinet Designs of Yakima and its New Dealer of the Year award to Coaster Construction of Cannon Beach, Ore. The firms were cited for their use of innovative showroom displays, annual sales volume, use and knowledge of Canyon Creek products and procedures, and the quality and quantity of promotions to market Canyon Creek products
DNA, a Seattle-based brand planning and marketing communications company, made a series of new hires. Jenn Brandow is project management director and was formerly with Publicis. Joe Gerlitz is senior copywriter and was with Copacino. Ann Fogarty is senior designer and was with Zaaz. Adrian Dickerson is copywriter and was with Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Cailen Guhl is art director and was with Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Brian Coulthard is IT director and was with HL2. Charlotte Roszel is receptionist and was with Butch Blum. Mike Quirk is production designer and was with Wong Doody.
JayRay, a communications consultancy in Tacoma, just opened a research space at its office. The space can be used to conduct focus groups and overlooks the Thea Foss waterway. It has group area, an observation room and the ability to record sessions on DVD.
Bartell Drugs will open a new store in Issaquah on Sept. 28. The 16,400-square-foot store is located in Overlake Center at 5700 East Lake Sammamish Parkway S.E. It will include a pharmacy with drive-through service.
