BOE architects of Tacoma hired Christine ‘Dean' Wright as a project associate. Wright is managing the design of a waterfront custom residential project in Gig Harbor and working on 3D delineation for a new Aquatic Center addition at the University of Puget Sound.
Parametrix hired Chuck Schott as a transportation engineer in its Sumner office. Schott has 20 years of experience designing civil and transportation projects in Western Washington. Schott's expertise is in roadway, highway, and interchange analysis and design. He will be working on projects for the Tulalip Tribes. His past projects include First Avenue South roadway and drainage improvements in Burien, the Seattle Neighborhood Street Fund Sidewalk planning and design in Seattle, and State Route 167 HOT Lanes.
ORB Architects of Renton hired Yong Sun Lee as a designer and Building Information Modeling lead. Lee has eight years of experience. She will provide staff technical training and support, and will develop of the firm's BIM standards and update the working-drawings manual. Yong is working on new housing for military families at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. The firm said that Yong's hiring represents a step forward in ORB Architects' use of BIM as a design tool.
Cierra Electrical Group hired Jon Krombein as a project manager. Krombein has five years of experience designing electrical systems for educational, healthcare and retail facilities.
Seven Simple Machines, a Seattle professional services company offering business strategy, operational efficiencies and application development to enterprise clients, hired Steven Anderson as chief executive officer. Anderson spent six years at eProject in multiple roles including CEO and COO.
Starbucks Coffee Co. hired John Culver as president, Starbucks Coffee International. He will oversee the operations and business development for all markets outside the U.S. and have Starbucks five regional leaders reporting to him. Culver succeeds Martin Coles, who resigned to pursue new opportunities. Culver has been with the company for seven years. Michelle Gass, recently named president of Seattle's Best Coffee, will take on additional responsibilities as interim president, Global Consumer Products and Foodservice, which was Culver's former position. A search will begin immediately to find a permanent leader for the CPG and Foodservice areas.
One Reel, a nonprofit arts and cultural organization, announced executive changes. Toni Aspin is chief executive officer. Aspin has worked at Centrum, the Seattle Symphony and Core Business Bank. Founder and President Norm Langill will be focusing on his role as artistic director for the entire organization. Sheila Hughes, former chief operating officer, is also moving into a new role as executive director of new business development.

Diane Narasaki, executive director of the Asian Counseling and Referral Service, received Seattle Magazine's sixth annual Most Influential People of the Year Award for her vision and leadership in the successful execution of a $19 million capital campaign. Narasaki has been ACRS' executive director since 1995. ACRS is a nonprofit that promotes social justice and the well-being and empowerment of Asian Pacific Americans.
Coastal Hotel Group, a Seattle-based hospitality management company, hired four people to the Cedarbrook Lodge team. They are Greg Bye as general manager; Sylvia Nierling as director of sales; Roy Breiman to culinary director and Mark Bodinet as executive chef. Bye worked at the River Rock Casino in California. Nierling was with the Red Lion Hotel in Seattle. Breiman was with The Dining Room at Salish Lodge and Spa. Bodinet was with French Laundry Restaurant in Napa Valley, Calif. Cedarbrook is located on 18 acres near Sea-Tac Airport.
Martinique Grigg has been named executive director for The Mountaineers. Grigg has worked with a variety of outdoor oriented organizations including the Appalachian Mountain Club in Boston, and L.L. Bean in Maine.
