Hodgson/Meyers

Hodgson/Meyers, a Kirkland-based marketing communications agency, hired Gina Auffant as account manager and Lea Loya as project manager. Auffant worked for White-Runkle and Cole & Weber United Seattle. Loya has 10 years of experience in marketing and was recently with Great Big Circle in Florida.

Stevens Hospital

The board of commissioners for Public Hospital District No. 2 of Snohomish County approved non-binding terms for Swedish Hospital to lease and assume management of Stevens Hospital effective this summer, pending regulatory approvals and final agreements. A public meeting will be held in January to discuss the proposed 30-year lease agreement. A final agreement is expected in early 2010. Stevens Hospital is financially strong but it needed a partner to ensure it could continue to improve and strengthen services.

Group Health

Group Health appointed James Hereford executive vice president of the Group Practice Division, which encompasses Group Health's 26 medical centers in Washington and northern Idaho. Hereford has worked at Group Health for 17 years and is executive vice president for strategic services and quality. He is replacing Peter Morgan, who is retiring.

Homebuyer tax credit workshop

The Home Realty Everett South Office is hosting a free informational workshop on Jan. 14, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. It will be at 12811 Eighth Ave. W., C201, Everett. Tom Lasswell, a certified lending advisor and regional instructor, will be there to review and explain the first-time homebuyers tax credits currently available and answer financing questions. Landau Associates, an environmental and geotechnical engineering and natural resource firm, promoted several employees. In its Edmonds office, Clint Jacob was promoted to senior associate. Jacob has been with the firm for nearly 11 years, during which he has performed environmental site investigation, remedial design and cleanup. Jacob heads Landau's bioremediation group, which focuses on in situ bioremediation and monitored natural attenuation of fuels, chlorinated solvents and metals. Jason Long was appointed director of natural resources/permitting. He has 16 years of experience and is a registered landscape architect, as well as a certified erosion and sediment control lead. Colette Griffith was promoted to senior staff engineer. Griffith specializes in site investigation and environmental remediation. Christophe Venot was promoted to staff environmental scientist. Venot has experience in ecology, microbiology and environmental engineering. Mark Brunner was promoted to senior staff environmental planner. His experience focuses on environmental site assessment and due diligence investigation, State Environmental Policy Act documentation and National Environmental Policy Act reports.

In the firm's Tacoma office Theresa Turpin was promoted to associate planner, bringing more than 20 years of expertise in environmental permitting, public facilitation, land-use planning and regulatory compliance to her role. Tom Briggs was promoted to associate engineer/geologist in the Spokane office. Briggs is the Spokane office manager and has been with Landau for more than 20 years, serving in a key role to help develop the firm's Eastern Washington business. In Colfax, Mandie McDonald was promoted to staff environmental specialist, focusing on water resource regulatory issues. Heidi Bullock was promoted to Portland office manager, as well as being named an associate. She has 14 years of experience in the environmental industry, serving in a variety of technical and management roles.

BHC Consultants

Hill
BHC Consultants, a Seattle engineering, planning and construction services consulting firm, hired certified building official William (Willie) Hill. BHC is creating a building code and construction compliance group, which Hill will lead. This group includes complete plan check and inspection services for buildings and structures to local municipalities and agencies, as well as the military and federal government sector. The group will also provide building code, fire code, and ancillary code interpretation, consulting and administration services. Hill has more than 25 years of experience providing local building code, construction inspection, building permitting and review services. Hill has completed hundreds of plan reviews for residential commercial, and institutional projects.

Quantum Consulting Engineers

Quantum Consulting Engineers, a Seattle-based structural engineering firm, hired Sandy Duran as its new marketing coordinator. Duran has more than seven years of marketing and business development experience, predominately in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. Prior to this position, Duran served as marketing coordinator for Integrus Architecture in Seattle, and CTA Architects Engineers in Boise, Idaho.

DNA Seattle

DNA, a Seattle-based creative services agency, made a series of new hires. They are Luke Wallace as interactive developer, Kelsey Sheppard as project manager, Josh Kaulius as interactive producer and Tam Pham as studio designer.

Farmers Insurance Group

Farmers Insurance Group of Companies announced senior vice president Jim Westerman is now senior vice president field operations, Pacific zone. The zone includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Westerman replaces Steve Feely, who is retiring. Westerman has worked with Farmers since 1983.

Seattle Public Relations Global Network

Seattle Public Relations Global Network agency The Fearey Group announced the addition of two new PRGN affiliates in Germany and Canada. PRGN, the international network of independent public relations agencies, now numbers 40 independently owned public relations agencies on six continents. The new affiliates are cometis AG, a financial services and corporate communications consultancy near Frankfurt, Germany; and public relations agency Fantail Communications from Toronto.
