Carney Badley Spellman

Carney Badley Spellman has named Jason Anderson, Jason Kettrick and S. Jay Terry as shareholders. Anderson, a senior associate, is a litigator whose practice includes insurance defense, insurance coverage, appeals and other areas. Kettrick is an associate who specializes in construction, development and related work. Terry is a senior associate who focuses on commercial disputes and assisting with contracting issues and risk identification.

Lane Powell

Lane Powell's Olympia office hired Elijah Forde as an associate in its Labor and Employment Practice Group. Forde worked as an assistant attorney general in the Washington State Attorney General Office, where he represented the Department of Labor and Industries in worker's compensation and building trades disputes.

Hodgson/Meyers

Hodgson/Meyers, a Kirkland-based marketing communications agency, hired Andrew Skirde as account coordinator. Skirde was an intern and is pursuing a BA degree in marketing management. He has also worked at the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.

Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle announced Kurt Beckett is chief of staff and Patricia Akiyama is external affairs director. Beckett has been director of external affairs since 2007. The chief of staff position is a new role. Akiyama was director of government and community relations for Russell Investments.

United Way

Peterson Sullivan Partner Matt Matson has been selected to chair the United Way Audit Review Committee. Matson was a board member for the committee for over seven years. The committee reviews audits of organizations that receive funding.

Hornall Anderson

Hornall Anderson, a brand design and interactive firm in Seattle, announced a new core management structure. John Anicker and Lisa Cerveny have been promoted to presidents. Anicker will be president of development and operations, and was previously chief operating officer. Cerveny will be president of creative and culture, and was previously creative director. Company co-founder Jack Anderson will remain chief executive officer and creative director.

Department of General Administration

Searetha Kelly, provider of administrative support for the Department of Social and Health Services team for the Department of General Administration, is being reassigned to the Buildings and Grounds section. She has been the main administrative support for the DSHS Team since its inception in 2000, and has supported the Capital Projects Advisory Review Board since it began in 2005. Danelle Bessett is taking Kelly's place in supporting DSHS.

Grubb & Ellis

McGregor
Matt McGregor joined the Seattle office of Grubb & Ellis as Industrial Group senior vice president. He will represent tenants and landlords, and handle sales and acquisitions. He was with Cushman & Wakefield, where he ranked as one of the firm's top five producers in the western region in 2008 and also ranked among CoStar's list of top 25 brokers in the Puget Sound region in 2007 and 2008.

Coast Sperry Van Ness

Coast Sperry Van Ness' Jansen Multifamily Team arranged the sale of the Garden Court Apartments in Everett. CEP GC-06, LLC sold the 12-unit, 12,400-square-foot complex for $1.35 million to Tom and Linda Dorsey. The brokerage team includes Josh Jansen, Todd Thompson and Matt Wilson. The brokerage's Blake Stedman and Donna Schaefer arranged the sale of the Harbor Building in downtown Edmonds. Harbor Building of Edmonds Two LLC sold the 17,920-square-foot, three-story building sold for $3.5 million to Hassen Properties.

Stephens
Accountant Dawn Stephens was promoted to chief financial officer at Harbor Properties. She was director of finance and corporate controller. She leads the accounting and IT departments.

Windermere

Windermere Property Management/Lori Gill & Associates opened an office in Edmonds at 210 Fifth Ave. S. Owner Lori Gill is recruiting new agents. The office focuses on houses, condos and small apartment buildings. It's the fourth Windermere office for Gill.

Keller Williams Realty

Agents Spary Dauterman, Janet Gibson and Lauren Kronmiller joined the Keller Williams Realty Seattle Metro West Market Center in West Seattle. Dauterman has been in the real estate industry five years. Gibson previously worked for Dwelling Seattle Real Estate and Old Republic Title & Escrow.

Michael Newsome of Seattle-based investment-banking firm Zachary Scott is the speaker at Commercial Real Estate Women Seattle & Sound's noon, March 11 program at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 Sixth Ave., Seattle. “Financing in an Uncertain Environment” is the program.
