Law firm Foster Pepper hired Vandana Harris in its Seattle office as of counsel. Vandana was formerly a senior associate with Jones Day in New York and will work in the international, investment management, business and tax practice groups.
Life Care Center of Federal Way, a nursing and rehabilitation facility, hired Executive Director Erin Doss. Doss was executive director at Park West Care Center in West Seattle. She is a licensed nursing home administrator and has 15 years of experience in long-term care. She is also a member of the American College of Health Care Administrators.
Hydrogen Advertising hired Deborah Taylor as vice president and director of account management. Taylor was recently marketing director at Starbucks Coffee Co., supporting sales and marketing efforts in the U.S.

Tulalip Resort Casino hired Juan Echevarria as marketing director. Echevarria will be responsible for all Tulalip Gaming Organization properties, including Tulalip Resort Casino and Quil Ceda Creek Casino. He has seven years of marketing experience and worked with Tulalip Data Services.
Clark Nuber, a CPA and consulting firm in Bellevue, announced a number of people earned promotions. The Association of Fundraising Professionals' Washington chapter will honor six philanthropists at its 22nd anniversary National Philanthropy Day luncheon Nov. 18. McKinstry Co. was chosen outstanding philanthropic corporation; Matt Griffin and Evelyne Rozner are outstanding philanthropists; Delivery Express is outstanding small company; Whatcom Community Foundation is outstanding philanthropic organization; the Moles Family is outstanding family; and Madeleine Colvin and Grace Grubb are outstanding young philanthropists.


Nova, a 15-unit townhouse project in South Seattle, has sold out. The Low Income Housing Institute developed Nova and Matrix Real Estate marketed the property. Buyers had to be first-time buyers and make no more than $55,000. The units cost $272,800. Matrix's Carrie DeBruler, an agent, and Steve Snider, a developer agent, worked with project partners to keep buyers' loans moving ahead. The units all sold in two months.
Marjorie O'Neill, vice president and corporate controller for GVA Kidder Mathews, earned her certified public accountant designation.
Real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle formed an alliance with a tax services company called Ryan to help clients manage real estate tax budgets, which usually comprise 4 percent to 6 percent of a company's overall real estate budget. Jones Lang LaSalle has a Seattle office.
Kinzer Real Estate Services of Seattle has launched a new website: Kinzer.com. It includes case studies about some of the company's largest deals, including Starbuck's and Russell Investments headquarters, the Gates Foundation and Safeco Field.
Forty volunteers from the Seattle King County Realtors participated in a work project at Seward Park in Seattle. They removed ivy and blackberries, and planted more than 400 native plants.
The 19th annual Growth Management Act Conference will be Nov. 3-4 at the state convention center in Seattle. The program will look at whether it's time for lawmakers to tweak or rewrite the landmark act. The conference is for attorneys, real estate professionals, government officials and others involved in development. Continuing education credits are available.
