Golder Associates made several new hires at its Redmond office: Clint Cabanero as a senior project GIS developer, Ben Cox as a geotechnical engineer, Carly Cyr as senior marketing coordinator and Terrell Fernandes as a systems analyst. Golder also transferred Bailey Theriault, a staff hydrogeologist, to Redmond. Cabanero has a master's in computer information systems from the University of Colorado and specializes in GIS web development. Fernandes specializes in internal software applications. Cox has a master's in civil engineering from the University of Florida and assists with geotechnical tasks, including nuclear density tests on compacted fill and construction monitoring. Cyr has seven years of marketing experience. Theriault has worked on hydrogeologic and geologic hazard studies at regional and local scales, including water supply, water quality and environmental impact studies.

GeoEngineers

GeoEngineers hired Craig Jordan as a staff geotechnical engineer and Shawna Heilman as a web developer in the Tacoma office. Jordan has five years of experience providing geotechnical field inspection, soil evaluations, materials testing and construction observation. Heilman has nine years of experience designing, developing and deploying software and GIS enterprise solutions. She will work on projects analyzing requirements, designing and developing software solutions, and deploying within GIS enterprise systems.

Shannon & Wilson

Thomas
Shannon & Wilson hired Stephen D. Thomas. He will lead the Seattle-based hydrogeology group and coordinate projects pertaining to resource evaluation, water quality monitoring, groundwater flow and contaminant modeling, water rights assessment, site characterization and design of dewatering systems. Thomas has 18 years of experience in water rights, groundwater resources and environmental consulting. The firm does geotechnical and environmental engineering.

GBD Architects

GBD Architects of Portland promoted Kyle Andersen to principal, Agustin Enriquez and Michelle Schulz to associate principals, Steve Rupert to senior associate, Patrick Moore and Suzy Olsen to associates, and Katie Kniesteadt and Kate Walker to administrative associates. An architect, Andersen has 15 years of experience in sustainable site designs. His projects include the Oregon Health & Science University Center for Health & Healing and the Beverly/Hollywood Whole Foods. Enriquez was hired in 2002 and has collaborated on projects at Portland State University and the Brewery Blocks. Schulz, whose background is in interior architecture and sustainable development, worked on OHSU Casey Eye Institute and renovations for Lane Community College. Rupert joined GBD in 2004 with experience in housing, assisted living, retail and schools. Moore has experience with high-rise condos and office, mixed-use community master planning, housing and green design. Olsen has done space planning and interior design for residential, corporate office, retail, institutional and hospitality projects. Kniesteadt is involved in construction and design. Walker assists in sustainable design.

BCRA

BCRA hired landscape architect and urban designer Daren Crabill. He recently received his master of urban design from the University of Michigan after working as a landscape designer in Alexandria, Va., and has experience in site planning, master planning, irrigation and GIS. He is involved with the South Kitsap Regional Park. BCRA provides architecture, land use planning, landscape architecture, land surveying, interior and graphic design, civil and structural engineering, building science and strategic marketing.

Tetra Tech INCA

Tetra Tech INCA hired Don Thompson, Francisco Arbeláez and Joshua Phillips as hydropower engineers in its Bellevue office. Thompson is a senior hydroelectric civil engineer with 36 years of engineering experience in licensing, design and construction management of hydroelectric power facilities. Arbeláez is a senior mechanical engineer with 29 years of mechanical engineering experience on hydro electrical and thermal power plants. Phillips is a civil engineer with 12 years of experience in hydraulic and structural design, cost estimating and project management. The firm provides transportation planning/engineering, structural engineering, navigation, flood control, mechanical, electrical, construction services and surveying for public agencies.

Lane Powell

Katheryn Bradley and Jacob Downs have joined Lane Powell as attorneys in the Labor and Employment Practice Group, and Sarah Swale has been appointed chair of the Wage and Hour Practice Group. Bradley was a partner at Foster Pepper and represents private and public employers in workplace disputes. Downs was an associate attorney at Williams Kastner, where he focused on business and commercial litigation. Swale focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling.

Van Ness Feldman

Law firm Van Ness Feldman hired Jim Curry as an associate attorney. Curry previously worked with the Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration where he served in the Office of Chief Counsel focusing on pipeline safety.

King County

The King County Council confirmed two appointments. Bill Kehoe is now the county's chief information officer and director of the Office of Information Resource Management. Christie True now leads the Department of Natural Resources and Parks. Kehoe was chief information officer of the Washington State Department of Licensing. True is a 25-year veteran of King County and Metro and previously led the Wastewater Treatment Division in the Department of Natural Resources and Parks.
