Scott|Edwards Architecture

Portland-based Scott|Edwards Architecture hired a number of people following recent project awards. The new and returning staff are Brian Mares, project manager; John Froning, architect; Diana Stephens, designer; Christopher Olenyik, intern, and Lexy Lakoduk, office manager. Mares has 10 years of design and management experience. He is working on a new master plan and facility for De Paul Treatment Centers. Froning's nine years of experience includes previous employment at S|EA, serving as an adjunct professor in the School of Architecture at Portland State University and establishing his own design firm, rev.ent architecture. He is working on commercial and residential projects. Stephens is returning to S|EA, and is working on the Sunnyside Village Public Library. Olenyik is a team member on Nestucca Landing in Pacific City. Lakoduk has worked in design and construction for more than 10 years. Scott|Edwards works on commercial, hospitality, multifamily and private residences.

ZGF Architects has hired a number of employees in its Seattle office. Jerome Unterreiner returns to the firm as an associate partner and urban designer. Brian van Stipdonk was hired as an associate and project designer, Tammy Felker as an associate and medical planner, Philip Rothey as an associate, Timothy Pfeiffer as an associate and project architect, and Marcy Naismith as an interior designer. Unterreiner's projects include the Seattle Seawall replacement and the Bel-Red Streetscape. He was at 360 Architecture in Kansas City. Van Stipdonk has 18 years of industry experience doing master planning, mixed-use, high-rise, workplace and retail. He worked on the Russell Investments Center renovation and Hard Rock Cafe Seattle. Felker is an architect and nurse who specializes in health care facilities. She is working on Seattle Children's Hospital expansion, and was previously employed by NBBJ. Rothey is working on the University of Puget Sound's Wheelock Hall. Prior to joining ZGF he was a project architect at Gensler working in the U.S., U.K., Dubai and China. Pfeiffer has 20 years of industry experience, and is working on the General Services Administration's Federal Center South headquarters. Previously, he founded BIM Logic Consulting.

OAC Services

OAC Services hired Phil Baker as project engineer in its Spokane office. He has seven years of industry experience, including work for the Jaynes Corp. and PCL Construction. His projects include Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, The Bravern and casinos.

Professional Service Industries

Professional Service Industries promoted James Marshall to business development associate in its Tacoma office and rehired Thor Christensen as a project engineer in the Mountlake Terrace office. Marshall completed PSI's project manager certification program and has been with the firm since 2007. Christensen holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and worked for PSI from 1996-98. PSI provides engineering, testing and consulting engineering.

Ogden Murphy Wallace

The law firm Ogden Murphy Wallace announced John O'Donnell has retired from the practice of law. O'Donnell joined the firm in 1990 and built a substantial tax and estate planning practice over 20 years. Monica Langfeldt has recently joined the firm's tax practice.

Energy Fitness and Wellness

Full Circle Fitness and Wellness, a Seattle gym, has changed its name to Energy Fitness and Wellness. The change reflects an emphasis on the holistic approach to health. The gym is at 2040 Westlake Ave. N.

Virginia Mason

Virginia Mason Medical Center hired four new primary care physicians. They are Christopher Berlin, Joy Bucher, Lars Kaine and Yukmila Soriano. Berlin, Bucher and Soriano joined the General Internal Medicine Section. Berlin practices at the Federal Way location while Bucher and Soriano are in Seattle. Kaine joined the Family Medicine Section and is practicing in Kirkland.

University of Oregon School of Law

University of Oregon law professor Michael Moffitt has been appointed dean of the UO School of Law, following a nationwide search to fill the position. His appointment will take effect in July of 2011. Moffitt has been on the faculty since 2001 and has served for the past three years as associate dean for academic affairs.
