AeroMetric

Crabtree
Jim Crabtree retired from AeroMetric after four and a half decades as a land surveyor, photogrammetrist and manager. Crabtree worked nationally and internationally, in the Middle East and Africa. In 1994, he became AeroMetric's vice president and regional manager in Seattle. He was responsible for the western U.S. operations, providing mapping services for 100-plus airports, wind farms, and other private and public projects. Crabtree was a contributing author for the fourth edition of the “Manual of Photogrammetry” and is editorial adviser and contributing author for Professional Surveyor magazine.

The Glosten Associates board of directors elected John L.R. Edgar III president of the Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering consulting firm. Former president William L. Hurley, Jr. served in that position since 2001 and now will be chairman of the board and execute strategic business initiatives. David Larsen will be director of engineering, responsible for best practices engineering processes. Edgar is Glosten's fourth president since its founding in 1958. He joined the firm in 1988. As director of engineering and most recently as vice president, he focused on reinforcing engineering structure and processes. Hurley joined Glosten in 1977 and has specialized in vessel design and construction while building ties in the marine industry. While he was president, Glosten doubled in size, increased its services and expanded into national and international markets. Larsen has 27 years of vessel design experience. He specializes in marine mechanical and electrical systems.

APS Survey & Mapping

Edwards
Bellevue-based APS Survey & Mapping appointed Scott Edwards vice president and significant owner in the company. Edwards joined APS in 2009. He helped update equipment and began a plan to improve employee training and recruit surveyors and CADD technicians. Edwards does scoping and scheduling for projects. He has 15-plus years of land-surveying experience, and in 2004 became a Washington licensed land surveyor. APS provides boundary, topographic and hydrographic surveys, utility surveys, right-of-ways and land title surveys.

Leadership Eastside

Leadership Eastside, a three-year program that helps participants develop skills through leadership roles in business, volunteerism and public service, hired James Whitfield as chief executive. Whitfield has served on a number of nonprofit boards. He was appointed by the White House in 2005 to be regional director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and later was deputy directory for the agency's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. He succeeds Stephanie Mapelli, who served as LE's president for four years.

Pioneer Human Services

Pioneer Human Services in Seattle hired Tony Wright as vice president. Wright was recently assistant commissioner at the Washington State Employment Service Department, overseeing a division of 1,000 people in 50 offices. Pioneer Enterprises is comprised of manufacturing and machining, food purchasing and distribution, and food services.

Point B

Seattle-based Point B said Paul Lambert, national practice director, has been appointed president of the board of directors for NPower Northwest, which provides technology assistance to nonprofits. Lambert was recently vice president of the NPower board. Point B is a management consulting firm.

Wells Fargo

Steve Hatfield has been named community banking district manager for Wells Fargo's Snohomish District. Hatfield is based in Lake Stevens and leads 127 team members and 11 banking stores. He has worked at Wells Fargo for eight years, most recently as a district manager for Wells Fargo Financial in Montana where he was responsible for nine branches.

Othello Public Market

This Spring, the Othello Public Market will open its doors as a year-round, indoor/outdoor, multicultural market. Composed of individual vendor stalls, the market's products will range from fresh produce to technological gadgets. El Mercado, a nonprofit, is leading the effort with the city of Seattle and other organizations in Rainier Valley, and is searching for interested vendors. Urban Interns, a company launched in New York in 2009, recently expanded to multiple markets including Seattle. Seattle-based Joseph J. Jefferson & Son named Richard Jackson operations manager and Shawn Lyness sales manager. Jackson has been with the company for 14 years. Lyness is working to expand the company's customer base. Joseph J. Jefferson is a plastering contractor for the commercial and residential markets. It was founded in 1924.

Global Diving & Salvage

Global Diving & Salvage of Seattle promoted John Juettner to operations manager of the Alaska region. Juettner has been in the commercial diving industry in Alaska for 17 years, working as a dive supervisor for the past seven. His new responsibilities include asset management, estimating, logistical support and project planning.

AEM Construction Challenge

CCA Meridian High School from Bellingham took first place in the recent AEM Construction Challenge rally in Seattle. Lakewood High School from Marysville took second place and Dana Hills High School from Dana Point, Calif., was third. Similar rallies were held in seven locations in the U.S. and Canada, with the top three from each location advancing to the finals at the March 21 Conexpo-Con/AGG exposition in Las Vegas. The program is designed to inspire young people to explore careers in construction.

Seattle Public Utilities

Seattle Public Utilities selected Skire Inc.'s Unifier solution to manage the municipality's construction contracts and associated documents. The system integrates with SPU's construction contract payment system, and is expected to increase the city's efficiency by providing a central repository for contract management. Menlo Park, Calif.-based Skire is a provider of cloud-based solutions for managing capital projects, facilities and real estate.
