Guenther Media promoted Rose Thornton to vice president. Thornton was senior project manager. She previously founded ReGenerations Productions, which created the green lifestyle television pilot “Mission: Sustainable.”
Ascentium in Seattle, a digital marketing agency focused on user experience and business solutions, hired Steve Farrell as executive creative director. Farrell was recently EVP/executive creative director at Publicis Modem New York where clients included Cartier, Heineken and Citibank. Ascentium has offices in Seattle, Atlanta, Portland, Spokane, Los Angeles and London.
Medical professional liability insurer Washington Casualty Co. promoted Mike Rutz to group vice president. Rutz joined the business in 2007 as vice president of marketing. He has 20 years experience in medial liability underwriting. Washington Casualty Co. is based in Maple Valley.
As part of its corporate reorganization following the relocation of Seabourn to Seattle, Holland America Line promoted Christy Oakland to senior director of reservations. Oakland has worked at Holland America since 1989. She was recently director, reservations.



Condon-Johnson & Associates of Oakland, Calif., won the 2011 Quality in Drilled Shaft Construction Award from ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling. The award is presented to an ADSC contractor who has demonstrated a high level of quality control and quality assurance in its drilled shaft projects. Condon-Johnson has branch offices in San Diego and Seattle.

American Product Distributors, a nationwide distributor of business consumable products, hired Lavance Northington as account manager. Lavance will serve customers in the California, Washington and Nevada markets.
Kirkland-based Metia/Seattle, a digital agency, hired John Porcaro as director of social media. Porcaro worked for Microsoft since 1990, most recently as director, customer and community relations management, Xbox Global Marketing. This is part of a recent hiring wave Metia began in 2010 in support of its 20 percent year-to-year growth, expected to continue this year.
Banner Bank promoted John Carrica to vice president/portfolio analysis and reporting. Carrica has 10 years of banking experience. He joined Banner Bank in 2005 as a real estate credit administrator.
