The Washington Bankers Association hired Gretchen Kirkpatrick as website and database specialist. Kirkpatrick will support the membership database and website, and provide technical support to the Seattle office. She has 10 years of experience.
Seattle's MistralKitchen restaurant recently hired Taylor Thornhill as chef de cuisine. Thornhill will work with chef and owner William Belickis in writing brunch, lunch and dinner menus that incorporate a variety of classic and contemporary techniques and ingredients. He has previously worked at Rover's, The Harvest Vine and Sitka & Spruce.
Seattle Genetics promoted Eric Dobmeier to the new position of chief operating officer. Dobmeier has been with Seattle Genetics for more than nine years, serving most recently as chief business officer.

Sam Ziemba joined the Bellevue office of Colliers as a vice president. He was with the company's London division, and now specializes in Eastside landlord and tenant representation.
Kirkland-based Northwest Multiple Listing Service selected Instanet Solutions' Authentisign system as its electronic signature product. Northwest MLS President and CEO Tom Hurdelbrink said this gives the MLS's more than 22,000 real estate brokers and their clients a secure way to electronically execute contracts. The service will be available this fall for a monthly fee.
Portland-based Bluestone & Hockley Real Estate Services said its maintenance department is now a separate entity. This allows the company to serve a broader market, said Bluestone Executive Vice President Elena Tangman-Wells. Bluestone & Hockley Maintenance is licensed in Oregon and Washington, and will work on retail, multi-family, housing, institutional and commercial properties.
Marcus & Millichap is hosting free webcasts on the outlook for different real estate sectors. Bill Rose, the national retail group director, is a presenter for the retail webcast on Tuesday. Marcus & Millichap Capital Managing Director William E. Hughes is a presenter for the apartment program July 19. Alan L. The Seattle district council of the Urban Land Institute is holding a July 21 panel discussion and walking tour of Ballard. Columbia Bank hired Brian Dunnigan as assistant vice president and commercial banking officer in the Tacoma Commercial Banking Center. Dunnigan has six years of banking experience and recently worked at Union Bank.
Western Washington University hired John Furman as director of facilities management. Furman was deputy at the U.S. Coast Guard's Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center in Norfolk, Va. He begins his duties at Western in August and was hired following a national search. Furman succeeds Tim Wynn, who is retiring.
Wurts & Associates, a provider of investment solutions, hired Jeffrey Scott as chief investment officer and Max Giolitti. Scott is currently CIO of the $40 billion Alaska Permanent Fund, one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds. Giolitti is the fund's director of asset allocation and risk.
