Western Washington University hired Jeff Wright as dean of the College of Sciences and Technology. Wright was a professor of engineering and co-director of the Center for Computer and Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society at the University of California, Merced. He was hired following a national search and will succeed Arlan Norman, who is retiring as CST dean.
Seattle Public Schools hired Andrew Medina to direct its new Office of Internal Audit. Medina has 18 years of experience in auditing and was a senior internal auditor at the Port of Seattle. He previously was internal auditor for the Las Vegas-based Clark County School District, the nation's fifth-largest school district.
Skyline at First Hill, a senior living complex at 725 Ninth Ave., hired Rob Liebreich as executive director. Liebreich has nine years experience in senior living and was recently associate executive director for a continuing care community in Maryland, where he was responsible for 1,200 employees and 2,200 residents.
The law firm of Williams Kastner hired Abby Wool Landon as a member in its Tax, Estate and Legacy Practice in the Portland office. Landon is an estate planning, wills and trusts, tax, business succession and probate attorney. She was a shareholder at Bullivant Houser Bailey and owned her own law firm for a decade.

KPFF Consulting Engineers Principal Nathan Charlton has joined the firm's Seattle office. He relocated from Portland, where he began his career as a structural engineer and worked for nearly 21 years. In Seattle, he will work on sustainable building projects. His recent work includes the Port of Portland headquarters.

ZGF Architects has hired seven people in Seattle, bringing the head count there to 105. They are
Craig Rizzo, associate partner and project designer,
Melissa Eby, interior designer,
Beth Stroshane, specification writer and associate, and
Julie Cronk, marketing manager, along with interns
Scott Blakemore,
Thayer Wild and
Adrienne Watkins. Rizzo returns to the firm with 15 years of experience on projects. Most recently, he worked at Leo A. Daly in Phoenix designing a net-zero-energy building in Qatar. Eby's work includes Smokey Point Medical Center in Marysville. Previously, she was at Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects. Stroshane's projects include a mixed-use building in Russia and tenant improvements at the University of Washington Medical Center. She worked at NBBJ. Cronk worked as marketing director at Lorig Development. Blakemore is working on the master plan for St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way. Wild is working on Seattle Children's expansion. Watkins was at ZGF from 2007-2009. Her projects included the University of Washington Molecular Engineering Building.
RDH Building Sciences hired four people for design and field review on new construction and rehabilitation work in Seattle and Portland. They are Tony Thompson, a senior construction technologist, Tony Case, a senior project architect, Mike Beelendorf, an architectural technologist, and James Newlin, an engineer-in-training. RDH provides engineering, architecture, construction management and risk assessment for building enclosures.
Buckland & Taylor, a North Vancouver, B.C.-based engineering company specializing in bridges, has opened an office in Alberta with Dale Serink as director. He has 30 years of experience in bridge engineering, including with Alberta Transportation and Aecom. He has been involved in more than 75 bridge designs and 200 bridge rehabilitation projects including the Athabasca River Bridge in Alberta.
AIA Seattle hired Gear Whisenant as administrative assistant. He will provide customer service, office management, administrative support and member service. Whisenant has been in the architecture industry for years, most recently at DKA Architecture.
