Maveron

Seattle-based Maveron hired David Wu as venture partner in the San Francisco office. Wu is an angel investor and entrepreneur with ties to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community, and is on the board of directors of Line2 and SeatMe. Maveron is a consumer-only venture capital firm with offices in Seattle and San Francisco. It was founded in 1998 by Dan Levitan and Howard Schultz of Starbucks.

CoHo•Res

Vancouver-based CoHo•Res hired Gretchen Gettles as director of sales. Gettles has been in the hospitality industry since 1991, with sales expertise in large brand and independent hotels. CoHo•Res is an electronic platform that connects hotels using the Global Distribution System, Internet Distribution System and Booking Engine applications.

KeyBank

KeyBank opened its 96th Seattle-area branch in the Wedgwood neighborhood at 7303 35th Ave. N.E. The branch will be managed by Chelan Shero. The grand opening is Aug. 25.

Leisure Care

The Seattle-based senior housing company Leisure Care, a One Eighty company, will manage Brighton Bay in Jacksonville, Fla. This is Leisure Care's first Florida property and its 40th in North America. Leisure Care said it manages a portfolio worth more than $1.5 billion. The Carlyle Group owns the 185-unit Brighton Bay, which is being renamed Camellia at Deerwood.

Escala

The Escala marketing team sold the Seattle high-rise's 200th condo, bringing the total sold to 74 percent. The team says prices are increasing, with two-bedroom, two-bath units start at $619,000. Of the 69 remaining units, seven are one-bedrooms. Rennie Marketing Systems is marketing project, and Erik Mehr and Associates is now handling sales. Erik Mehr previously was with Team Builder John L. Scott, which had the Escala listing. Lexas Cos. and RREEF Global Opportunity Fund own the 30-story tower.

HomeStreet Bank

HomeStreet Bank is promoting a program that lets employers help employees buy or refinance houses. The Hometown Home Loan Program by Affinity Lending helps employees buy or re-fi with discounts on closing costs. It includes down-payment assistance and home ownership classes. A HomeStreet spokesperson said called it “a real, major benefit” that doesn't cost employers money. The program was created in 1994 with the city of Seattle to help police and firefighters. It has been expanded to more than 50 companies and groups.

NorthMarq Capital

Ron Peterson of NorthMarq's Bellevue office arranged first mortgage refinancing of $24.7 million for Colony at Bear Creek I, a 248-unit market-rate apartment in Redmond. Financing was based on a 10-year term with two years of interest only, then a 30-year amortization schedule. It was arranged with Freddie Mac. Bob Spiro of the Bellevue office worked with the Nevada office to arrange first mortgage refinancing of $13 million for Elko Junction, a shopping center in Elko, Nev. Financing was based on a 20-year term and a 30-year amortization schedule and was obtained from a life insurance company.

Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs promoted Sanjay Soli to principal of the Seattle office and managing director of the Asia office; Greg Lee and Peter Krebs to principal; and Erik Pearson to associate. Soli manages the Asia global center, which focuses on design and engineering services. Lee is a project manager in Seattle and leads the Asian engineering design team, which is working on residential, commercial and health care projects in India. Krebs and Pearson work in the Seattle office building department. Krebs is a project manager whose work includes the Skagit Valley Hospital expansion in Mount Vernon. Pearson is a project manager and project engineer whose work includes Overlake Medical Center South Tower in Bellevue. Besides Seattle, the civil and structural engineering firm has an office in Bangalore, India.

Aegis Engineering

Aegis Engineering hired Katy Gross as an intern. Gross attends Seattle Pacific University in the engineering department. Aegis provides fire protection and building code consulting.

Professional Service Industries

Project engineer Deborah Priest was promoted to principal consultant for construction materials testing at Professional Service Industries, and will be the primary principal consultant for the Mountlake Terrace and Tacoma offices. The firm provides environmental engineering and testing. It is headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

ExtraHop Networks

Seattle-based ExtraHop Networks hired Erika Giesa as senior vice president of marketing. Giesa worked as senior vice president of product management at F5 Networks. ExtraHop Networks provides network-based management solutions ensuring business-critical transactions do not fail.

13th District Coast Guard

Chief Petty Officer Jeff Ruggieri assumed command of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Kennewick. Ruggieri replaces chief petty office Gary Hurdle who will transfer to Cutter Mellon in Seattle. Ruggieri enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1989 and served as commanding officer of ANT Los Angeles/Long Beach, San Pedro, Calif.

NAES Corp.

Issaquah-based NAES Corp. hired Mark Minniti as vice president and general manager of the NAES Power Contractors office in Cranberry Township, Penn. Minniti was vice president at Day & Zimmermann Engineering, Construction & Maintenance. NAES is a service provider for energy markets.

Madison Park Capital Partners

Seattle-based Madison Park Capital Partners hired Erik Ogard as managing principal. Ogard was director of multi-strategy solutions for Russell Investments. Madison Park Capital is a new alternative asset management firm.
