To prepare for future growth throughout the Pacific Northwest, Simpson Strong-Tie relocated in Kent to a building with twice as much manufacturing, warehouse and training space as its previous location. The company also added a new showroom. The training center is expected to host more than 500 individuals in the building industry annually, including structural engineers, contractors, distributors and building officials.
The National Association of Women in Construction recently installed its 2012-13 officers and board members at its national convention in Denver. The roster includes president-elect Yasmine A. Branden of Portland Chapter No. 54. Also, Dalene Schafer Bloom of the Portland Chapter is serving her second term as Region 9 director. NAWIC is based in Fort Worth, Texas.


Seattle Law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt hired Kevin Dothager and Charlie Zhao as associates. Dothager served as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office working on software development. Zhao focuses his practice on patent law, including electrical, computer and mechanical arts.

Spokane-based Healthcare Resource Group hired Carole Morris as director of compliance. Morris worked within the University of California Davis Health System for 25 years, most recently as manager of the Compliance & Privacy Program. Healthcare Resource Group focuses on the revenue cycle of health care.
Washington State Bar Association President Michele Radosevich and President-elect Patrick Palace were sworn in at the WSBA Annual Awards Dinner. Radosevich is a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine. Palace opened Palace Law Offices in 1995. New governors are: Kenneth Masters, Gerald Moberg, Hon. Paul Bastine, Barb Rhoads-Weaver and Robin Lynn Haynes.

Seattle law firm Short Cressman & Burgess hired construction and real estate lawyer Athan Tramountanas as partner. Tramountanas worked at K&L Gates and has construction, contract law and commercial litigation expertise. He teaches construction law in the University of Washington's Construction Management program.

Brian Landgren, president of Electronic Business Machines, said Dave Schlosser has been promoted to vice president and director of sales. Everett-based Electronic Business Machines is an independent office technology and software solutions provider servicing customers in the Seattle/Everett area.
KeyBank opened a new branch in the Bitter Lake neighborhood of Seattle at 13245 Aurora Ave. N. Tori Scott, who will manage the new location, has been with KeyBank for 25 years, most recently as manager of the Richmond Highlands office in Shoreline.
A 63-year-old Port Angeles man was fatally gored in October 2010 by a 370-pound mountain goat on a trail in Olympic National Park.
