Gist

Katrin Gist has joined CBRE's tenant representation team and will lead development of an airport real estate practice. Clients will include fixed-base operators, maintenance facilities, charter operators, and others with hangar and office space requirements, both sales and leasing. Gist worked an attorney at Lane Powell, with a focus on aircraft transactions and regulatory issues. She assisted Boeing customers, foreign airlines and others with more than $1 billion worth of transactions.

Bluestone & Hockley

Bluestone & Hockley said it will offer a class Nov. 28 in Portland called “Don't Fall off the Fiscal Cliff in 2013: Things to Consider Before Year-End.” It is part if a continuing series and is designed for real estate investors. The instructors are Tim Kalberg and Trent Baeckl of Perkins & Co. who will talk about real estate and income tax implications of the “fiscal cliff” and the Affordable Care Act. It will start at 4:30 p.m. at 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd on the third floor and is open to the public. There is no cost. Dow Hotels

The Dow Hotel Co. of Seattle promoted Howard Gottlieb to general manager of the 248-suite Chicago Marriott Suites in Deerfield, Ill. He was the hotel's director of sales and marketing. Founded in 1997, Dow is a hotel owner, investor and operator, with 11 hotels in the United States.

Kidder Mathews

Tim Chin, a 17-year veteran broker, has joined Kidder Mathews' Bellevue office as a vice president. He will represent landlords and tenants in Eastside office properties, and spent 15 years at Colliers International.

Capitol Hill Housing

Capitol Hill Housing Improvement Program is seeking nominations for board members from the Capitol Hill community. CHH has a 15-member board. Qualifications include leadership, experience or training in areas such as development, management, special needs populations, community development, finance, policy, planning, marketing, fundraising and accounting. Interested parties should submit a resume and a statement of interest to board@capitolhillhousing.org before Dec. 15. CHH develops, preserves and manages affordable housing. It owns and operates 44 apartment buildings in Seattle with more than 1,700 residents.

CREW luncheon Nov. 8 on campus design

The Nov. 8 CREW lunch topic is “Building the Future of Higher Education Architecture.” It will be at the Washington Athletic Club, starting at 11:30 a.m. with registration. Speakers are Miller Hull Partnership's Ruth Baleiko, LMN Architects' Jennifer Hing and Bill LaPatra of Mithun. They will talk about how typical college campuses don't work for 21st century academia and student life. Krause

Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie hired Connie Krause as director of sales. Krause has 30 years of hospitality experience and served as assistant director of catering and conference services for the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. The Salish Lodge & Spa overlooks the 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls.
