Wood Partners

Yoon

Steve Yoon has joined Wood Partners' Northwest regional office as vice president of development. Yoon was a senior development manager for Harbor Urban in Seattle and its predecessor company, Harbor Properties. He managed several construction projects and stabilized residential assets. He has eight years of experience in the real estate industry. Atlanta-based Wood Partners started 5,000 units in 21 complexes nationwide last year. In Seattle, Wood is building a 27-story, 298-unit complex at 225 Cedar St. in Belltown. Wood Partners said it hopes to break ground on a second project in the Puget Sound region this year.

Valbridge Property Advisors

Bellevue-based Allen Brackett Shedd has merged with 41 other appraisal firms to form Valbridge Property Advisors. The new company says it is one of the three largest commercial real estate valuation and advisory firms in the country. Murray Brackett, Darin Shedd and Greg Goodman lead the Bellevue office. Valbridge is based in Naples, Fla., and it has 600 staff members in 59 locations.

Churchill Mortgage

Churchill Mortgage will open its first branch in Washington with a location in Gig Harbor. Tane Cabe, who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, will run the new office. Cabe was the managing director at Security One Lending, and managed his own mortgage company for 11 years. Churchill Mortgage is based in Brentwood, Tenn., and has branches in 26 states.

Vulcan

Vulcan Real Estate announced two fitness companies, Heroics and The Fitness Outlet, are moving into its properties in South Lake Union. Heroics will open this summer at 2200 Westlake Ave. N., offering personal training and life coaching services. It has been in Bellevue since 2008. The Fitness Outlet has opened at 251 Yale Ave. N. in the Alley24 building. It sells treadmills, elliptical trainers, pilates equipment and weight machines. The South Lake Union location is the company's seventh store, with two in California and four others in Washington, including Bellevue and Tacoma.

The Seattle Times promoted Janice Vallin to executive director of advertising. Vallin joined The Seattle Times in 2011 as the director of major and national advertising. Vallin began her career in 1995 at the Houston Chronicle, and was the Austin American-Statesman's senior multimedia advertising director.

Bonneville Seattle

Carl Gardner, vice president and market manager of Bonneville Seattle, announced the promotion of Pete Gammell to KIRO Radio program director; Jason Antebi to KTTH program director and executive producer, and Brian Long to senior director of programming. Utah-based Bonneville owns and operates radio stations in the Seattle, Los Angeles and Phoenix markets.

DCI Engineers

In its Seattle office, DCI Engineers promoted engineers Katrina Reed, Alisa Ma, Robyn Yang and Patrick Lindblom to project manager. Reed has six years of structural engineering experience with hospitality, retail, multifamily, tenant improvements and seismic renovations. She worked on Amazon's headquarters in Seattle. Ma has four years of structural engineering experience in tenant improvements, seismic renovations, and mixed-use, housing and medical buildings. She is managing the Kress Building in Seattle. Yang has six years of structural engineering experience with residential, office, hospitality and mixed-use buildings. She is working on Park Metro, a 74-unit Bellevue apartment complex. Lindblom has five years of structural engineering experience with retail, hospitality, office, multi-use and multifamily buildings. He has worked on Madison Centre, a 36-story office building planned in Seattle. Seattle-based DCI is a civil and structural consulting engineering firm. It also has offices in Spokane; Portland and Eugene; San Diego and Irvine, Calif.; and Austin, Texas.

Baylis Architects

Baylis Architects hired Sam Chung as a job captain and Lisa Lu as a project manager. Chung has 12 years of experience in apartments and commercial buildings. He will work on apartments in northeast Seattle. Lu is an architect with 20-plus years of experience with apartments and houses, and has been project manager on high-end homes. She is working on custom homes. Baylis is an architectural and planning firm with offices in Bellevue and Seattle.

GeoDesign

GeoDesign, a geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting firm, hired Tom Tobin to its Seattle office. He has 30-plus years of geotechnical engineering experience on municipal, commercial, industrial and housing developments; road, bridge, and utility projects; landslide evaluation and remediation; and landfills. He was with GeoEngineers. His clients have included Seattle and Sound Transit. Portland-based GeoDesign also has offices in Tacoma, Longview, Vancouver, Salem and Anaheim, Calif.

HDJ Design Group

Vancouver-based HDJ Design Group re-hired Nicollette R. Roth as a civil engineering designer to support transportation engineers and the site development group. Roth has four-plus years of experience on projects for HDJ, an engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm.

Ryan Swanson & Cleveland

Brotherton

Seattle-based law firm Ryan Swanson & Cleveland named Kari A. Brotherton as a member of the firm. Brotherton, an attorney and CPA, was appointed chair of the firm's estate planning and probate group in June 2012 and has worked for the firm since 2006.

Un-Cruise Adventures

Lanao

Seattle-based Un-Cruise Adventures added Blanca-Stella Lanao to its sales team in a new position to focus on the southern United States and Latin America, with a focus on Mexico. Lanao has 20 years' experience in the travel industry, most recently as a consultant for travel firms in Mexico and South America.

Innovate Washington

Spokane-based Innovate Washington hired Tim Priest as chief marketing and development officer. Priest was president and founder of CMO Strategy Group, a marketing strategy and services company. Innovate Washington is a statewide public-private partnership that serves as a catalyst for economic growth.
