Betts, Patterson & Mines elected Pam Kohli Jacobson and Marissa Alkhazov to shareholder and Mark Mills to director. Jacobson heads the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Alkhazov is a complex litigation attorney. Mills advises insurers on coverage issues and represents them in related litigation.

Northwest Folklife

Northwest Folklife named Sheila Siden development director. She was director of development for Artist Trust, and a development specialist for Nikkei Heritage Association of Washington's Japanese Cultural and Community Centery.

Atigeo

Atigeo, a Bellevue tech company, named Richard B. “Rick” Toren president of Atigeo Healthcare. He has 30 years of experience founding and leading health care tech companies, and most recently was chief strategy officer of QPID.

High Country Contractors & Developers

Guthrie

Renton-based High Country Contractors & Developers hired Leonard Guthrie as superintendent. Guthrie has been a superintendent for decades on local private and public projects.

Milgard

Kim Flanary of Tacoma-based Milgard was named 2014 Outstanding Member by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association. The award is given to those who distinguish themselves in their work, the association and the fenestration industry. Flanary has been with Milgard for more than 21 years and is director of sustaining, manufacturing and quality engineering.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County and Portland/East Metro Habitat for Humanity were named Affiliates of Distinction by Habitat for Humanity International. This is the second time Habitat SKC has been selected for the award. Habitat International this year gave the award to 14 of its affiliates for achievement and innovation.

PCL Construction

Fortune magazine named PCL Construction to its 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 10th consecutive year. PCL ranked 67th this year, and is one of two commercial construction firms on the list.

Arthofer

OpenSquare hired Lisa Arthofer as vice president of new business development. She was with Western Office Interiors. OpenSquare is an office furniture dealership in the Northwest created from the merger of Bank and Office Interiors, and Barclay Dean.

Port of Everett

The Port of Everett contracted with Green Funnel Agency, represented by Vincent Sullivan, to serve as the Port's Midwest Agent and help generate additional cargo business. GFA is based in New Buffalo, Michigan, and specializes in the movement of high and heavy cargo.

Junior Achievement of Washington

Junior Achievement of Washington is adding three people to its Hall of Fame: Jeff Brotman and Jim Sinegal, co-founders of Costco Wholesale, and Gene Juarez, founder of Gene Juarez Salons & Spas.

U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank Wealth Management named Jan Hendrickson regional managing director for Ascent Private Capital Management in Seattle. Hendrickson will run the Seattle office, which provides private banking, planning and family office advisory services to wealthy clients.
