For its in-building wireless solutions team, Seattle-based McKinstry hired Tom Shannon as director of in-building wireless, Scott Wood and Jeremy Edalgo as project managers, Ken Chapman as lead wireless engineer, and Paul Zuccaro as wireless solutions consultant. Also, Bill Polis joined the firm as electrical business development manager. Shannon is an electrical engineer with 20 years of experience who holds a master's degree in engineering management. Wood is a Navy veteran with 25 years of project management experience with wireless systems. Edalgo has been working on public safety and Wi-Fi systems for 11 years, and co-authored the book “DAS for Dummies.” Chapman has been in the cellular industry for nearly 20 years and holds an MBA. Zuccaro has been in the in-building wireless industry for 17 years.

Pyxis Consulting

Brian Leonard launched a company called Pyxis Consulting that provides owner's representation and advocacy. Leonard has more than 20 years of fabrication, construction, project management and business development experience. The new company is based in Edmonds.

KBA Inc.

Construction management company KBA Inc. earlier this month moved its main office in Bellevue to a new location in the Gateway 112 Building of the Bellefield Office Park. The new address is: 11201 S.E. Eighth St., Suite 160, Bellevue, WA 98004. Phone numbers and email addresses remain the same.

A. Troy Hunter has joined Issaquah Legal Services as a full equity partner. The firm will now be known as Issaquah Law Group. Hunter is a personal injury defense attorney. The firm focuses on business formation, transactions and litigation. The office will be in the Braunston Building at 410 S.E. Newport Way N.W.

Western Washington University

Bruce Shepard, president of Western Washington University in Bellingham, will retire at the end of the next academic year. He has been president since 2008, and was chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay from 2001 to 2008. He served as provost of Eastern Oregon University.

D.A. Davidson & Co.

D.A. Davidson & Co., an employee-owned investment firm based in Great Falls, Montana, hired Steve Condon as co-director of wealth planning, April Zee as associate director of wealth planning and Daryl Geffken to manage the wealth planning resource group.

Daniels is DSA's Downtown Champion

Downtown Seattle Association named Daniels Real Estate President Kevin Daniels the 2015 Downtown Champion at its annual meeting Wednesday. Daniels was honored for his vision of downtown and his emphasis on historic preservation. The award goes to an individual or organization that has made a positive impact on downtown. Last year's winner was Leslie Smith, executive director of Alliance for Pioneer Square. Daniels has more than 30 years of real estate experience, and is president of Daniels Real Estate and Nitze-Stagen & Co.

Attain Housing names interim ED

Pottmeyer

The Kirkland-based affordable housing group Attain Housing hired Terry Pottmeyer interim executive director, replacing Jennifer Barron, who resigned in May. Under Barron the organization changed its name from KITH to Attain Housing, and merged with Housing at the Crossroads. Pottmeyer was president and CEO of Friends of Youth. She will help find a permanent director.

NBS adds financial analyst

Lemley

NBS Financial Services hired Connor Lemley as a finance analyst in Seattle. Lemley graduated from the University of Washington with a political science degree, and worked at a political tech startup in Denver and for Seattle Mayor Ed Murray's campaign. He worked at McKee & Schalka Real Estate Appraisal Services and got certified in real estate finance and statistics. NBS Financial is part of NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson, a real estate company in Portland.

NAIOP event on capital markets

NAIOP's June 17 breakfast meeting will focus on capital markets: what's driving them and where they are going. The event is at Four Seasons Seattle and starts at 7:45 a.m. Mike Wood, principal at NBS Financial Services will moderate a panel that includes Frank Bosl of CBRE, Kevin Catlett of Principal Real Estate Investors and Jason Flynn of Eastdil Secured. Northwest Kidney Centers, a nonprofit that provides dialysis care in King and Clallam counties, promoted three people. Tosha Whitley, RN, is clinical director of quality initiatives. Chris Grove, RN, is clinical director of management education and regulations. Cindy Black, RN, is clinical director at Kirkland, Lake City, Port Angeles, Northgate and West Seattle clinics.

America's Car Museum

America's Car Museum named Scharmach Enterprises President and CEO Manfred Scharmach to the board of directors. Scharmach owns and operates BMW Northwest, Northwest MINI, Seattle MINI and Northwest Pre-Owned Center.
