KPLU/Jazz24 hired Matt Martinez as director of content. He is leaving NPR after 15 years as a producer, most recently as senior producer for programming.

Portland Community College said Sylvia Kelley will be the school's interim president while a national search continues for a new president. Kelley has been acting president of Oregon's biggest post-secondary institution since May 18, replacing Jeremy Brown.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction hired Andy Bailey as senior project engineer and Charis Ferguson as human resources coordinator, and promoted Justin Sinconis to project engineer. Bailey holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Central Washington University, and is supporting the Bellevue Village Bartell Drugs store expansion. Ferguson manages employee benefits and supports the HR department. She holds a bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University. Sinconis joined Abbott in 2013 as service coordinator and supports tenant improvements.

Furness

Envelop VR, a Bellevue software company focused on virtual reality, hired Dr. Tom Furness as senior scientific advisor. He is a professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Washington, and received a lifetime achievement award for his work in virtual reality and augmented reality at Augmented World Expo. Furness worked as a scientist in the Air Force developing advanced cockpits and virtual interfaces, and has also worked on medical diagnostics, training and security.

Alpine BioVentures

Alpine BioVentures, a Seattle-based venture capital firm focused on health care, said Jay Venkatesan, M.D., has joined as a managing partner. He was executive vice president and general manager of Oncothyreon, which he joined after it was acquired by Alpine Biosciences. He also founded Ayer Capital Management and was a director at Brookside Capital Partners, a hedge fund group affiliated with Bain Capital.

HFF broker for Premiere on Pine

HFF represented Holland Partner Group in the sale of Premiere on Pine, a 40-story apartment tower at 815 Pine St. that sold for $240.1 million to Chicago-based Heitman. Matthew Lawton, Ira Virden and Gerry Rohm handled the sale for HFF. Weber Thompson designed Premiere on Pine and Holland's construction division built it. Other team members are Susan Marinello, interior designer; Cary Kopczynski & Co., structural engineer; and Holland Residential, property manager.

Jonas Sylvester chairs ULI council

Unico Properties' chief investment officer and chief operating officer Jonas Sylvester will chair Urban Land Institute's Northwest District Council for two years. He succeeds Ada M. Healey of Vulcan Real Estate. Dennis Allen, director of planning and development at Zidell Yards in Portland, is vice chair. The Northwest council is one of 51 ULI councils in North America.

Tammy Cane joined Tarragon as a development manager specializing in industrial properties. Cane has more than 18 years of experience, and last worked at Holland Partner Group as a senior development manager. Tarragon develops residential, industrial, office and retail projects in Washington, California and Nevada.

CBRE gets financing for Ridgewood

CBRE Capital Markets arranged $45 million in refinancing for Ridgewood Corporate Square, a seven-building office complex in Bellevue.

Marina Massari and Sharon Kline of CBRE's Newport Beach, California, office represented the owner: KBS Realty Advisors.

Ridgewood Corporate Square was built in 1986 and has 242,081 square feet. The address is 150-330 120th Ave. N.E.
