Miller Hayashi Architects promoted architects Laura Maman and Erik Salisbury to senior associate. Maman joined the firm in 2007, and has 10 years of experience on education, civic and health care projects. Salisbury was hired in 2006, and has 12 years of experience on education, community and civic projects. The Seattle-based firm provides planning and design services.

Jason King joined Mithun as a landscape architect in Seattle. King has over 18 years of experience on green stormwater infrastructure, ranging from housing to the public realm. His blog, Landscape+Urbanism, looks at urban ecology and regenerative design.






Landau Associates promoted Stephanie Renando to staff scientist in Edmonds, Ben Ford to senior staff engineer in Olympia and Erin Waibel to staff geologist in Portland. In Tacoma, the firm promoted Ben Lee to project engineer, and Jamie Sloan and Sierra Mott to senior staff scientists. Renando does groundwater, soil and vapor/gas sampling field work. Ford supports geotechnical projects, including landslide repairs, public works and private development. Waibel is responsible for operation and maintenance on remediation sites and environmental due diligence. Lee does hydrogeologic characterizations, well design and tracks water policy changes. Sloan assists in permitting and compliance, and has project management duties. Mott does environmental reporting, field and data management, and project manager support. The Edmonds firm provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, permitting and compliance services.

Kimberly Erzen joined Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects as a BIM/CAD technician. Erzen provides drafting, design and construction support on projects for Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County and others. She has nine years of drafting experience and worked for Elkay Foodservice of Spokane. Bernardo|Wills provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.
Coastal Hotel Group, a Seattle-based hotel hospitality management company, hired Bradley Walker as senior vice president of marketing. Walker's career began at Alaska Airlines where became a member of the commercial strategy team and led the in-house tour company, Alaska Airlines Vacations. He also worked for Travel Holdings, a travel distribution company, and was chair of VisitSeattle.
After nearly 30 years, Janis Smith, Clipper's vice president of sales and marketing, is leaving in October. Smith was hired in 1986 as the company's first employee. She will help search for a new senior executive. Clipper provides transportation, tours and accommodation packages in the northwestern U.S. and Canada.

The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County got a $90,000 award from Bank of America for the Youth at Work Summer Employment Program, which sponsors jobs for youth ages 14 to 24 to develop skills and assist employers. Funding will cover paid internships for 45 youth at a variety of worksites, with an emphasis on high-growth industry sectors.
Seattle-based Bartell Drugs named Steven Frestedt vice president of marketing. He will supervise marketing in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Frestedt was marketing director for Bartell.






The Seattle office of Mortenson Construction hired Eleonor Oshitoye as community affairs manager, Martin Sanchez as safety engineer, Joseph Morgan as superintendent, and Kindra Scobba, Breanna Oehlert and Ryan Romano as field engineers. Oshitoye is maximizing opportunities for disadvantaged businesses. She is a certified DBE program administrator with expertise in developing workshops, strategies and processes to help underrepresented businesses obtain contracts. Sanchez holds a bachelor's degree in safety and health management from Central Washington University. He is working at the Chambers Creek Regional WWTP in University Place. Morgan is working at the Tilt49 project and previously worked on Amazon's headquarters. Scobba interned with Mortenson for the past two summers and graduated from CWU. She is working at Swedish Medical Center's Cherry Hill project. Oehlert interned with Mortenson in California on solar projects. She holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University. Romano is working on the Chambers Creek project. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from CWU.
Wayne's Roofing of Sumner was awarded Firestone Building Products' 2015 Master Contractor award for roofing system installation excellence. The firm achieved this designation based on the amount of roofing installed, the number of jobs completed, and inspection ratings. Wayne's Roofing has received the award 10 times.
