Brad Zorich joined Snohomish County Tourism Bureau as group sales manager for convention facilities. Zorich has 15 years of sales, product, E-commerce and marketing experience in hospitality, and worked for Argosy Cruises & Tillicum Village.
K&L Gates said J. Timothy Hobbs, Naomi Ogan and Ankur Tohan were named partners in Seattle. Hobbs focuses his practice on antitrust law and litigation and trade regulation, in addition to fisheries. Ogan handles corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, and securities offerings. Tohan counsels on energy infrastructure, natural resource development and enforcement actions.
Washington Health Benefit Exchange appointed Pam MacEwan chief executive officer. MacEwan has been interim CEO since August 2015, succeeding Richard Onizuka. She joined the exchange in 2012 as chief of staff.
University Place Mayor Javier Figueroa and City of Puyallup Councilmember Tom Swanson have been elected to lead the Rainier Communications Commission, which advises local jurisdictions on telecom issues and televises local government programming.

KING 5 News has opened its new studio and named a new leader. Cheryl Carson, former KING 5 assistant news director and interim news director, has been named news director. Carson first joined as assistant news director in 2012. Before that she was with KTTV in Los Angeles and WGHP in Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point, North Carolina.
Several new employees are joining the team at Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority and a few are returning. Brenda Rolph is vice president, Finance & Operations. Autumn Lingle is executive assistant. Kristina Thorne has been promoted to sports events development. Jene Santos is the new sales manager. Nick Tolley is social media and content manager. Sherri Scott is graphic design and creative services manager. Noelle Cueto is partner services coordinator. Shawn Woods was promoted from concierge to Visitor Center coordinator.


Kidder Mathews has hired the retail sales and leasing team of Damian Sevilla and Jason Miller from Colliers International. They have completed more than 250 leases for clients that include Taco Time, Cherry Street Coffee, Banfield Pet Hospital, Equity Residential, Beacon Capital Partners and Urban Visions. Kidder Mathews has more than 550 employees in 13 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Nevada.

The Washington chapter of NAIOP's March 9 breakfast will include a debate about transit-oriented development and the conclusion of the 2016 Real Estate Challenge. The challenge is a contest between students from University of Washington, University of British Columbia and Portland State University to plan a TOD project in the Bel-Red corridor. Columbia Pacific Advisors provided a $50 million first mortgage loan for the purchase of Weyerhaeuser's Federal Way campus. Industrial Realty Group bought the 425-acre campus earlier this month for $70.5 million. IRG plans to redevelop and lease or sell parts of the campus for industrial and office space. Mesa West Capital, which is partially owned by Columbia Pacific Advisors, helped originate the financing and is expected to be involved in managing the loan. Columbia Pacific Advisors said it manages more than $1.1 billion in loans, equity, growth capital and distressed debt. Since January it has closed more than $90 million in loans.
